I bought this flash for macro photography and use it on the end of a "magic arm" via an off camera flash cord and with a mini softbox attached, so the size was important. The Sony HVL-f43m and f60m were too bulky for my purposes and I didn't need all that power. The hvl-f32m is well built. It has a built in diffuser and bounce card and it comes with a case and stand. It can act both as a wireless master and slave flash, but you can't vary the power output when used wirelessly. It requires only two AA batteries.

Very pleased with the overall performance of this flash unit. It's easy to use, and very powerful for its size. The build in flash deflector and bounce shield come in very handy . . . you don't have to go looking for them when you need them! Lots of features for the price, including bounce and swivel.

After having to use my Canon 580ex in manual mode on my Sony A7Rii, I decided that I wanted a fully automatic TTL flash. The flash is very lightweight using only two AA batteries but does not seem to be as robustly constructed as my Canon flashes. I am generally happy with the flash but it feels cheaply made for the price. It works on my A6000 also.

Good flash for photography and weddings, that’s what I used it for while small and compact it is perfect for leisure and professional photography.

If you are looking for a light weight, compact, simple and dedicated flash for the alpha series. This is the one for you. Very easy to set up.

I received the flash out a week ago and have used it twice since. It's pretty easy to setup and use. Seems like a great value and i like the instant compatibility with my Sony A7 III.

This flash has done wonders for me. I worked on a political campaign as a campaign photographer and the shots I got with this bouncing off of walls were timeless. With rechargeable batteries it's amazing and the power it releases when bouncing off walls is almost always plenty. Only problems is obviously when the ceiling is super high. The Price is also a little high but ok.

This flash is powerful and the TTL (auto compensation) works great. But it is a relatively basic flash so not a lot of bells and whistles and no real manual functionality. Which is why its good for a beginner. You can use it as a slave flash though if you have a controller flash. I believe it also have the ability to be the controller as well but with limitations when compared to other sony flash models.

This is a great compact flash for my camera. It ties into the system with no compatibility issues. It fits nicely in my travel bag too.

This flash operated in auto mode until I put the camera into manual mode (had to read the instructions - duhh!!). The Through The Lens (TTL) design gave great lighting and excellent pictures. When I upgrade to the A7III in the future, I'll be able to use this same flash. Excellent value!

I used my Maxumm 5100 flash with my new Sony A6300. I purchased the F32 because of its weight and size and it has proven to be a good accessory. I'm not an expert in flash usage, but this unit is easy to use and relatively intuitive for a novice, with lots of features to grow into.

Great flash with swivel and pivoting capabilities. Nice angles for bouncing light. Includes a built-in diffuser and a reflection card, as well as a small stand with a cold shoe, as well as a nifty fabric case. High Speed Sync will only work in the forward position above 1/250th. One way around this is to mount it to a tripod or flash stand to aim in any direction. The included stand has a threaded mount that can be attached to a quick release plate. This flash doesn't include a remote trigger or a way to tether to your camera for off-camera use. It will not work off-camera unless you have a remote or a secondary flash to trigger it. HSS will only work in WiFi mode, not TTL or Manual modes while using it off-camera. While using off-camera, you'll need to keep the infrared sensor of the flash aimed towards your triggering flash or remote. It will also need to be within reach of your trigger. If not, there's a good chance this flash will misfire. I feel mislead by the off-camera feature of this flash. I assumed this flash would sync without using a secondary flash or a wireless remote, or at least be able to tether to the camera. I thought the camera would trigger it, or there would be an app that allowed the camera and flash to sync. None of these are the case. You'll need another flash with this one for off-camera use. None of this was mentioned before purchase of course. All in all, it's a decent flash that casts a broad area of light, adding essential contrast for better portraits.

This flash works great. I really like how it looks and works with a Dome I bought with it as well. I only dislike the battery solution which takes in 2 doble A batteries. When shooting a wedding you will need about 1 pack of 6-8 batteries. Once the batteries are low the flash takes longer to charge up and provided you with continuous shots, and when shooting a wedding you always take more than one shot to get it perfect. So I would recommend finding a better battery solution or being very picky with the pictures you shoot back to back once then batteries start running low.

It works as I need. The flash pictures come out well. TTL works like it is supposed to. It is not to top heavy when mounted on the camera's hot shoe. I did pick up a right angle bracket anyway.

Not the cheapest flash available but I needed something that will flash fill shaded areas when the background was too bright. My concern was, will this produce enough light while outdoors on a sunny day. It actually produced a lot more than necessary. I'm only an intermediate photographer and still learning as I'm taking more photos but this absolutely does the job in many situations. I highly recommend it over the built in flash for my NEX-7, I have more control over the lighting levels and have been able to produce better photos in dark situations.

I really like this flash. It's relatively lightweight and produces a nice flash. The shoe is pretty fragile and seems like it is easy to break. Be delicate with it
