The Walkman sound is really clear compared to any of my smartphones. It has a lot choices for sound enhancement and a 6-band equalizer. The player operation using the latest firmware 1.10 is really smooth and responsive. My only dislike is that you need to use Media Go in order to get the art cover and is very slow first time loading your library otherwise you can simply drag and drop your files in either the built in memory or expansion SD card afterwards everything is really smooth.

This was a replacement for my Microsoft Zune. It is so easy to use and holds so many songs that I won't have to get a new one unless this one dies. Great value for the price and with expandable memory up to 256GB, it ensure that I have plenty of room for nearly all of my music

Great sound quality and battery lasts for a long time on a single charge. Very easy to use. Small size is great for carrying around. I would highly recommend it.

the unit is a little large since I use it on my bike rides but not enough to detract from the over all quality. insure you read the instructions and the unit should fulfill your requirements

I was looking for a new mp3 player and I originally ordered the $699.00 one but that was too much to pay. So I found this one and it has excellent audio, really great looking screen that will probably need a protector but I've had it for about a month and hands down it's the best mp3 player that I've owned. Yes this is a bit more expensive than most but I bought a 128gb micro sd card so I will not run out of memory anytime soon. I highly recommend this for people that use an mp3 regularly.

My music has depth and nuance again! While this unit will improve the quality of compressed music using built in processing, to really take advantage of this thing you'll need to rip CD's using uncompressed FLAC or download FLAC or better yet DSD files from a site like HDTracks.com to really hear the difference. It's unfortunate that this basic unit doesn't come with "HiRes" headphones or earbuds. You're not going to hear any difference using your Apple earbuds or inexpensive headphones, but bumping up to higher quality headphones (I use Bose and Bowers and Wilkins), you'll be astounded by what's missing in common digital music formats and players. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for better quality audio who's also willing to put in the extra effort to rip FLAC files from CDs, or purchase them from a HiRes service... otherwise, other than the cool interface, you're not going to get much out of this unit.

I decided to buy this Walkman since I was not happy with the sound provided by my cellphone. I thought the device has a small form factor and has buttons to play and pause. You need to use the Sony Media program to load your songs if you want the art cover to show otherwise you could just drag and drop your music. I sometimes use it with a pair of Sony headphones using the LDAC and it sounds really good.

I bought this player out of anger at Apple when they made it so that I couldn't sync my iPod anymore. This product is heavier and clunkier than an iPod, but I wouldn't mind that if it worked like an iPod. It doesn't. There's a USB cable, but it's just for charging, whereas the iPod could play music through its USB cable for a solid connection that was more reliable than blue tooth. The Sony has blue tooth compatibility, but, since I was using this in my car, I could either do my phone or this player, not both. The only other option was the Aux cable, which had poor sound quality. When I stopped my engine, the player kept playing. I had to stop it manually, so that it didn't play through my entire playlist while I was away from it. I ended up putting my music on my phone and e-wasting this thing.

I had to replace my Walkman model NWZ-A17SLV with the NW-A35 model, as Sony discontinued the NWZ-A17SLV model. I barely had the NWA-35 for less than a week before I gave up and returned it to Best Buy for a store credit. The issue I had with the NWA-35 model is the Bluetooth connectivity to my car (’14 Corolla). With the NWZ-A17SLV model, my car recognized it as ‘Walkman’ and I was able to navigate the player via my car’s touchscreen. But with the NWA-35, my car didn’t recognize it as ‘Walkman’ and I was only able to connect it to my car via ‘Bluetooth Audio’, and it was recognized as ‘BlueAngel Linux’. The NWA-35 was up to date in terms of firmware but I was still unable to connect it to my car properly. If I could rate this model with half a star, I definitely would. Don’t buy the NWA-35!

Even though it does have its quirks, like volume level is not shown and other things, but for the price, it is a great High Resolution Music player. Works extremely well with Sony's higher end wireless headphones that support LDAC, which is far superior wireless to standard bluetooth, which limits sound quality.

I am planning to return this piece of junk. It has numerous problems. #The physical construction is flimsy, especially the SD card port. It's a struggle to get it to accept the SD card, and the port cover feels like it's made of bubble gum. #The device cannot merge its internal memory and SD card memory. So when you load and play music the target is one or the other. My mobile phone merges its internal memory and SD card, and according to comments on the internet, so do most other media players. So the internal memory is basically wasted. #The final deal killer is that the device and/or the MediaGo software that works with it cannot load my entire collection onto the device, despite plenty of memory to spare on the 128G SD card. It simply hangs after loading 3661 songs. I let it run over night and it failed to get past this barrier.
