The sound quality is incredibly rich, balanced, and detailed, making every playlist feel cinematic. One of the standout features for me is the seamless multi-device connectivity. I’m really enjoying my new Sony headphones. The comfort and active noise cancellation (ANC) are the true highlights, making them perfect for casual, all-day wear. I love the color I chose, and the build quality feels incredibly durable. Practical features are excellent: the battery life easily lasts a full day and charges incredibly fast—getting from 0% to 50% in less than 30 minutes. Pairing is simple, and I especially appreciate the slim, well-designed case that tucks neatly into a bag and secures the headphones with a satisfying magnetic lock. While they aren’t the absolute best in pure sound quality (need to tinker with the sound connect app), the overall package is fantastic. It's worth noting a couple of minor points: the microphone quality can struggle in very loud settings, the volume controls took a little getting used to, and the ear cups can get slightly warm during extended use—though not enough to make them unwearable. These are small considerations in an otherwise outstanding experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and feature-rich pair of everyday headphones.

I truly love this product. The sound quality is amazing. The battery life lasts me a week before charging it again, which is amazing. XM6’s ANC is just perfect because I feel like I’m in my own world, and I can’t even hear anything else. The case and the ability to fold are very helpful because they make traveling a lot easier. The weight of these things makes me feel like I’m not wearing anything on my head, and the EQ allows me to adjust the sound profile, so I can make them sound based on what I like. I would say that the build quality is not as good as other headphones for the price, but overall the pros outweigh the cons.

If you’re planning on paying for a pair of top-tier headphones, the XM6’s are absolutely worth it, in my opinion/experience. I took them on a week long music tour; and they excelled in every aspect. I used them for multiple hours every day, and not only were they comfortable for extended periods (a common issue with headphones in my experience); I never had to charge them even once. The ANC is truly top-notch; and, even without music playing, they blocked out bus noise/chatter. Obviously, nothing is going to eliminate everything; but with music playing, I couldn’t hear anything outside of my music. The Ambient Sound Mode is super effective. I had perfectly normal conversations without taking the headphones off; and it’s also super easy to switch from ANC to Ambient Mode (just one press of a button, or palming the right ear cup). I was a bit worried about the touch controls; but I’ve not had any issues with it so far; and the new coating on the headphones means that oil smudges from my fingers don’t stick like they did on older models. The app itself is really useful, too; and I’ve had fun experimenting with different sound modes. I’m generally a super careful person, especially with items that cost me a lot of money, so I can’t speak a whole lot on how durable the headphones are; but they seem like they’re quality enough. I do keep them in the case when I’m not using them, though (also, the magnetic case is so much better than a zipper). Overall, the XM6’s are phenomenal headphones. Again, the price is daunting; but so are the prices for every other brand’s flagship headphones; and if you’re already aware of that and planning on spending that kind of money, I recommend these.

For comparison, I have these and the Bose Quiet Comfort as well as several different ANC earbuds and none of these comes close to the noise cancelling as well as passthrough audio quality. A paper shredder running right next to me is just slightly audible that something is running, but if you actually turn on music, you can't hear it at all. You do feel a slight amount of "pressure" with ANC mode on and no sound playing, but it's better than my bose headphones, and I don't notice it at all when music is playing. I can comfortably wear these for hours without any sort of earphone fatigue and never felt it was too tight for my slightly larger than average sized head. Even though the headphone speaker part twists, it's not that comfortable to wear it around your neck as it's a bit tight, but workable in a pinch for a short amount of time. The audio quality out of the box is very good, but I love that it has a 10 band EQ that you can adjust to even fine tune the sound to your exact liking. It has a bunch of presets and you can make your own custom EQs as well. It has settings to make the audio sound like background cafe music if you like working while just "ambient" sound is playing. Battery life so far is excellent and for me at least, I can go multiple days on a single charge. With that said, I do have three complaints with the headphones. It has that really soft feeling rubbery/silicone feel which feels great, but I haven't had luck with that material lasting for 4+ years so I am worried if it will hold up for many years. The material at least with my black color will pick up some oil smudges, especially around the earcups. It's not too bad on the frame, but it is noticable if you're looking for it. The last issue is the price. It is not cheap, but it does fall in line with many other higher end headphones. With sales of other headphones happening regularly though, that may be more appealing than these headphones. Overall, if you feel that ANC is the most important then this is the headphones for you. It offers great sound with a good feature set, but just be aware that there are other audiophile headphones out there that can give this a run for its money.
