I’m really enjoying my new Sony headphones. The comfort and active noise cancellation (ANC) are the true highlights, making them perfect for casual, all-day wear. I love the color I chose, and the build quality feels incredibly durable. Practical features are excellent: the battery life easily lasts a full day and charges incredibly fast—getting from 0% to 50% in less than 30 minutes. Pairing is simple, and I especially appreciate the slim, well-designed case that tucks neatly into a bag and secures the headphones with a satisfying magnetic lock. While they aren’t the absolute best in pure sound quality (need to tinker with the sound connect app), the overall package is fantastic. It's worth noting a couple of minor points: the microphone quality can struggle in very loud settings, the volume controls took a little getting used to, and the ear cups can get slightly warm during extended use—though not enough to make them unwearable. These are small considerations in an otherwise outstanding experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and feature-rich pair of everyday headphones.

If you’re planning on paying for a pair of top-tier headphones, the XM6’s are absolutely worth it, in my opinion/experience. I took them on a week long music tour; and they excelled in every aspect. I used them for multiple hours every day, and not only were they comfortable for extended periods (a common issue with headphones in my experience); I never had to charge them even once. The ANC is truly top-notch; and, even without music playing, they blocked out bus noise/chatter. Obviously, nothing is going to eliminate everything; but with music playing, I couldn’t hear anything outside of my music. The Ambient Sound Mode is super effective. I had perfectly normal conversations without taking the headphones off; and it’s also super easy to switch from ANC to Ambient Mode (just one press of a button, or palming the right ear cup). I was a bit worried about the touch controls; but I’ve not had any issues with it so far; and the new coating on the headphones means that oil smudges from my fingers don’t stick like they did on older models. The app itself is really useful, too; and I’ve had fun experimenting with different sound modes. I’m generally a super careful person, especially with items that cost me a lot of money, so I can’t speak a whole lot on how durable the headphones are; but they seem like they’re quality enough. I do keep them in the case when I’m not using them, though (also, the magnetic case is so much better than a zipper). Overall, the XM6’s are phenomenal headphones. Again, the price is daunting; but so are the prices for every other brand’s flagship headphones; and if you’re already aware of that and planning on spending that kind of money, I recommend these.

For comparison, I have these and the Bose Quiet Comfort as well as several different ANC earbuds and none of these comes close to the noise cancelling as well as passthrough audio quality. A paper shredder running right next to me is just slightly audible that something is running, but if you actually turn on music, you can't hear it at all. You do feel a slight amount of "pressure" with ANC mode on and no sound playing, but it's better than my bose headphones, and I don't notice it at all when music is playing. I can comfortably wear these for hours without any sort of earphone fatigue and never felt it was too tight for my slightly larger than average sized head. Even though the headphone speaker part twists, it's not that comfortable to wear it around your neck as it's a bit tight, but workable in a pinch for a short amount of time. The audio quality out of the box is very good, but I love that it has a 10 band EQ that you can adjust to even fine tune the sound to your exact liking. It has a bunch of presets and you can make your own custom EQs as well. It has settings to make the audio sound like background cafe music if you like working while just "ambient" sound is playing. Battery life so far is excellent and for me at least, I can go multiple days on a single charge. With that said, I do have three complaints with the headphones. It has that really soft feeling rubbery/silicone feel which feels great, but I haven't had luck with that material lasting for 4+ years so I am worried if it will hold up for many years. The material at least with my black color will pick up some oil smudges, especially around the earcups. It's not too bad on the frame, but it is noticable if you're looking for it. The last issue is the price. It is not cheap, but it does fall in line with many other higher end headphones. With sales of other headphones happening regularly though, that may be more appealing than these headphones. Overall, if you feel that ANC is the most important then this is the headphones for you. It offers great sound with a good feature set, but just be aware that there are other audiophile headphones out there that can give this a run for its money.

I recently upgraded from my Sony MDR-1000X headphones, which I’ve owned since 2016, to the new Sony WH-1000XM6, and the difference is night and day. The sound quality of the XM6 is incredible. Everything from music to audiobooks sounds so much clearer and more balanced, with crisp highs and punchy lows that the MDR-1000X just couldn’t match. The spatial audio feature is a game-changer; it makes watching TV shows feel like I’m in a movie theater, with sound that wraps around me in a way the older model never could. I didn’t realize what I was missing until now. The Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANAC) is another huge improvement. With more microphones and a faster processor, the XM6 blocks out noise like never before, it’s like having my quiet bubble. The battery life is also amazing, offering up to 30 hours with ANC on, which is perfect for long trips. I used to worry about charging my MDR-1000X, but with the XM6, that’s no longer an issue. The design is sleeker and more comfortable, and the hard-shell case is much better for traveling. There are also cool new features like Bluetooth LE Audio and a 10-band equalizer, which let me customize my listening experience even more. Overall, the WH-1000XM6 is a fantastic upgrade. Sony has outdone themselves, and I’m thrilled with my purchase!

Amazing! Pretty pricey, I purchased mine for around $450 USD, but they are so worth it. TLDR - Expensive, but very well worth the price! I took them on a 16 hour plane flight, and I could not hear a single sound of the plane over my music/movie. The battery life is amazing, lasts for multiple days on a full charge and lots of use. I was able to sleep well with them because of the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling.) The ANC is truly amazing. Sony claims that it cancels out around 80% of sound when active, and I would agree with that! The cancellation is just stunninf, and the passthrough mode is perfect for wearing on public while still needing to be aware of your surroundings. Furthermore, there are three modes - normal (standard headphones), background (with three different settings) and cinema (enhanced SFX.) I love cafe for just being around the house doing things, because if someone comes up to me I can easily talk to them without having to do anything. The standard mode with ANC is perfect for studying and really getting things done. Overall, really great headphones! Very travel friendly, very compact, really love them.

I recently purchased the Sony XM6 from Best Buy, and I can confidently say these are the best headphones I’ve ever owned. The sound quality is stunning. I can barely hear anything around me, even in loud environments like public transit or the gym. It’s like stepping into your own quiet world. Comfort is top-tier. I’ve worn them for hours without any discomfort, and the battery life is phenomenal. Best Buy had awesome customer service, solid packaging, and the purchase process was smooth from start to finish. Overall, the XM6 exceeded all expectations. These headphones are outstanding. The sound quality is crisp with deep bass, clean mids, and clear highs that make music and movies really immersive. I loved the Sony WH-1000XM5’s when I had them they were amazing quality headphones and I honestly didn’t believe that the Sony WH-1000XM6’s could possibly be that much of an improvement over an already great pair of headphones. However, I was dead wrong! These headphones are so much better in nearly every metric. The ANC is markedly improved, the Spatial Audio is no longer a joke, the EQ is now a legitimate EQ unlike the pathetic EQ the XM5’s had. They are also more comfortable, they were always comfortable but they remain comfortable during multiple hour sessions of wear. They also fixed the mistake they made with the XM5’s in that you can fold these so they are more compact when you need to store them. Then there is the case and I honestly thought it was going to be a piece of junk but the replacement of the zipper for a magnetic seal on the case really shocked me at what a great idea it is. All of my cases with zippers inevitably break off after a certain amount of use but the magnetic closure just snaps shut and stays shut. They also added a power button and a button to toggle between ANC and ambient noise but unfortunately everything else is still operated by swiping or touching and in my experience it’s either too sensitive or not sensitive enough to work reliably and incrementally. They are also $100 bucks cheaper than Apple’s Max but even at $448 dollars I think is asking a lot from the customer so if I had to advise someone I would tell them to definitely buy the XM6’s but they should probably wait until it goes on sale during one of the upcoming holidays. Overall these are without a doubt the best pair of headphones that I have ever owned and I’ve tried and owned quite a lot of different brands and models so these set a very high bar that in the market right now I just don’t see anyone coming close to this level of excellence!

I wanted to upgrade my airpods pro but instead i got the WH-1000XM6. Best decision I’ve ever made! The noise cancelling feature is the best, it really cancells out the sounds in your environment a huge plus when travelling. I’ve had mine for a month and i only charged it once. I use it with my iphone, my pc, my steam deck and it’s really easy to pair with my devices.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 are exceptional. Crystal-clear sound, deep bass, and the best noise cancellation I’ve ever experienced. They’re incredibly comfortable for long use, the battery lasts forever, and the touch controls feel natural. Easily worth it for both work and travel.

I decided to purchase these as an upgrade to my Bose QC35 gen 1 (2017) after I bought my wife a pair of the latest Bose QuietComfort headphones and heard the difference. I considered the XM5 headphones but once I saw that Sony put the folding hinge back in, these are what I wanted. The ANC is amazing! What a difference from my old QC35 headset. The sound is what I expect from Sony. I have never been disappointed by Sony headphones. The earcups feel great. They are not heavy. One issue I personally have is the headband cushion is a little too soft and after an hour of wearing, I can feel a little discomfort on top of my head. This may be unique to particular head shapes. A rounder head probably won’t have this minor issue. My QC35 had a firmer sponge like cushion. I enjoy using the touch sensitive surface of the earcups to initiate commands such as volume adjustment and song changes. The magnetic latch on the case is a definite plus as well. Overall, I am quite happy I made the purchase.

I am absolutely in love with the sound quality and the noise canceling on these headphones. They are incredibly comfortable for long flights and study sessions. Everything about the performance is 5-star quality. However, the price is still quite steep. If you want the best of the best and don't mind the investment, these are perfect.

These are a fantastic piece of hardware. They are solid in construction. I had considered these against the XM5 since they went on sale, and the hinge breakage issue that is prevalent in the XM5s steered me away. With these, you really don't have to worry about any breakage issues, since the frame is made of solid metal construction. Of course.The sound quality is great.The active noise cancellation is top of the market.But for me, what really separates these headphones from the rest of the market is the connectivity with the app.The ability to customize the headphones in the app and to take advantage of features like adaptive sound are really what makes these so much better than anything else that's available on the market at this price point.

Best all around headphones that I’ve owned. These will be replacing my AirPods Max with incredible noise cancellation, comfortable ear pads, fold flat design, and excellent sound quality. I love the travel case, EQ software, touch controls, and I’m hearing elements of songs that I’ve never noticed before.

These are the best noise cancelling headphones I've owned. They connect and pair easily. They also cancel out almost all background noise. I'm in meetings all day and they are very comfortable to wear. Call quality is A+
