Before writing this review I contacted Bestbuy and Sonymobile because I thought they would give me the best way to solve this problem. Bestbuy told me to call Sony because the return policy expired (only 14 days in a smartphone) and Sony told me, after I sent my cellphone to their repair team, and they keep it for almost 30 days, just to tell me "no issues found". Having said that, here is the issue this phone has (it is not only my cellphone, just google "XZ camera distortion"). After I took some photos I noticed a wavy effect all the way across the image, lines that are supposed to be straight are curved, check the images that I added to this review (try to use full screen to have better view of the distortion) and think about what this issue causes to faces and bodies, I took photos of my son too, where his forehead looks bigger than normal or his legs shorter depending on where the target is located on the photo, the only spot where the image is not distorted is at the center of the lens. The reason why I gave only one star to this review is because I bought a more than 600 dollars smartphone that has an issue that neither Bestbuy nor Sony wanted to do something that really solved this issue. This cellphone has a good performance, but it is an expensive smartphone, all its features should be good (its battery last less than in previous versions). If you buy this cellphone that I do not recommend, immediately after you receive it take some close up photos from people and straight objects and check if has any distortion before your return policy expires (remember only 14 days of purchase). Big companies should worry a bit more about satisfying their customers and not just about acquiring large amounts of money.

I'm thoroughly impressed by this phone. He speed stands up to the Samsung s8 and even loads websites faster than the other flagship including the iPhone 7. The camera is impressive and intelligent with its predictive shutter that snaps a picture before and after you hit the button so you can pick the best shot or save all of them. The front camera is great and the keyboard is more predictive than Samsung. Swype works better on it as well. I was worried it might be a 32 gig cause of best buys awkward model type on the page but it is the 64 version. Cons is the fingerprint scanner not being active on the US version but it is there and there's an easy fix for that in a software download if that's a bust or none for you. I'd highly recommend this phone if long top and bottom bezels aren't a lose all for you. The stereo speakers is a great add though which makes the bezel no issue for me.

This is a great phone, very fast , lots of memory 64GB. The AI learning battery usage and general app usage etc is really good. Charging is also fast

LOVE Sony and this phone!!! I Upgraded from a Xperia Z to this one and have no complaints so far! I loved loved LOVED my Z when I had it and refused to let it go. So glad I held on to that one until finding this one. So far I have not been let down.

Looks sleek and the display is crisp. Works fine. But the phone gets heated after a little use and the battery life is much less than iphones. May be it is only my phone and not the entire batch.

Amazing device, great battery performance and camera. I had big expectations about this device and so far I could say I am more than satisfied.

Sony has been making great phones for some time now, i have held the TL, Z3 and now the XZS, which so far has been super quick with the boost to 4GB of Ram The slow motion video is pretty awesome, i don't know how often i will use that feature but it's good to have. The front camera is much improved compared to the Z3 i had before Price is slightly cheaper than iPhone and Samsung I am happy they increased the internal memory of the phone to 64GB and obviously you can add a memory card in the memory card slot This phone uses a different charger port "super quick", no longer a micro USB PROs: 1. Great Camera 2. Unique and stands out 3. External Memory option 4. Dual SIM card options 5. Runs on Android 6. Battery has been good so far, lasted 2.5 days which is good for me "I am an average user" i don't play games on it all day I am assuming it would only last 1.5 days with above avg usage and 1 day if i am using it non stop Cons: 1. Memory card and SIM share same tray, so in order to get out or insert the memory card the phone will do a quick reboot, not a major issue 2. Have to buy the phone unlocked, so you can make payments with your service provider which i don't care about since i travel overseas frequently and i don't like to be limited to just 1 carrier for 2 years 3. Sony still sells phones with no headphones

Great overall phone, switched after many years of the Galaxy series. I wasn't a fan of the curved screen on the new S8 phone, and didn't want some of the gimmicky features like Bixby. I've had the phone for two weeks now and I really like the build quality, great display, good battery life, and outstanding camera. Apps open and run super quick, no lag at all. Camera starts almost instantly. Very little software is forced onto this phone, it runs a pretty clean Android OS which I appreciate. Screen seems to resist fingerprints a little better than my last Galaxy, and a lot better than some older Sony phones I've looked at. Call quality is excellent. Front facing speakers are great for speakerphone but they aren't super loud for music. Podcasts and news/talk radio are fine on the speakers, but if you're in a noisy setting it's difficult to hear music. Picture quality is excellent with this camera. The super slow motion feature is also nice but needs to have a decent amount of light to work well. Overall very happy with this phone, I wish AT&T would offer it on the installment plan but it was definitely worth purchasing through Best Buy and just getting a new SIM card.

I really loved this 2017 phone but it's too outdated now. Cool squarish shape which is hard to find nowadays.
