A: I ordered mine in October 2022. Had a November delivery date, which was pushed back to December which was pushed back to February which was pushed back to March 20th. I got a call on the 18th with a narrower window for delivery. It never came and I never got a call. I did call and got some very nice people who didn't cause the problem who were very sympathetic. They said the wrong machine had been delivered to their warehouse and they reordered the correct one. They promised delivery on the 22. I did get it. The delivery people said they had never seen a machine like it. I used it the first time today. I am hoping it will last as long as my old Kitchenaid that was still working when I gave it away last week. It was over 30 years old. I want a strong, uncomplicated work horse. I want one where I can choose the water lever and temperature and have no more than 3 cycles. I want one to last 20 years and as I am 77 I want this to be my last washer. This fits the bill and so far after 3 loads of clothes seems to be working fine. I didn't like that I had to pay for it in October and not receive it until March and I didn't like that no one from the delivery called me on Monday to tell me they weren't coming. Those nice people I talked to offered me a $200 gift card for my troubles. I didn't ask for that but it is nice that they offered. I would have appreciated cash quite a bit better
A: All Speed Queen washers fill all the way to the top with water like machines used to before the government got involved with water saving. I finally figured this out after asking and asking and lamenting about the last washer we bought not filling with water. That ridiculous washer only lasted a few years and every appliance repairman I spoke to said buy a speed queen, they work like washers used to and rarely break. So I did! And I'm so happy to no longer have to pour gallons of water from a bottle filled from the kitchen sink into the washer to get my clothes covered with water like machines used to do!
Q: How many gallons per average cycle does this washer use?
A: Hi, MikeK! The water level on our TC5 is preset to each cycle. The Normal/Eco cycle will use less water to achieve that Eco status. The Heavy Duty, Perm Press, and Delicate cycle use around 14.5 gallons per fill (one fill for the wash and another fill for the rinse). Then the Bulky/Sheets cycle would use around 16 gallons per fill. The Deep Fill option increases each fill to 19 gallons.

I love this washing machine! It gets my clothes, clean and takes less time then an HE machine. I love being able to control how much water I want to use to wash my clothing. My whites are white again!

I've had my Speed Queen top load washer for almost EIGHT years - I paid the price for a no frills old fashioned washer because I want to set my water levels and be able to throw in additional items...I paid about $850 back then - I see they have about doubled in price...but I doubt if I'd ever buy anything else. Hate those "energy effcient" which don't even get clothes wet ...
