We love Sphero products (we have a Mini and a SPRK+) and were excited to add this new robot to the family. The matrix is awesome and the auto-aiming feature is super cool. I planned to make the kiddo wait until Christmas to play with it, but that rarely works. The sooner she learns to code, the more likely mom can likely retire at a reasonable age.

Sophisticated toy that is very impressive. Unfortunately we didn’t keep it. My boys are you g and didn’t care much about the coding and programming aspects of it so it was hard to justify the price tag. Nonetheless very cool and well made. We had also bought the mini which was plenty to entertain them at a fraction of the cost. Maybe later

It rolled around my living room on Christmas day, the children in the house looked at it with amusement and delight. The picture on the box makes it look bigger than it is. The way that it lights up is very illuminating.

Don't think I needed the developers edition. And if all three floors of your townhouse only have really nice Persian rugs on top of hardwood, its helpful to buy a rubber skin. If you have only tile floors then you might live in a bathroom.

I bought this for my (elementary school-aged) daughter after she attended an Apple camp where she was taught programming with it. It really is fun and entertaining—while at the same time, teaching valuable programming skills to kids. I’ve also taught myself a thing or two about programming in this day and age...hey, I’m a child of the 80’s, my knowledge of programming is BASIC! You can get the cheaper $50 versions that are as small as a golf ball, but the flashing lights and colors and sounds of this Sphero make the experience worlds better. I love that my kids are learning programming and other valuable technological skills from an early age.

I am very happy with the quality of the product itself and how easy it linked to my iPhone but I am not able to get my kid's brand new kindle kids edition to link to Sphero.

Simple interface to start learning some programming skills.... Using the manual driving mode, I have been told that I need more practice........

My granddaughter is having a lot of fun learning to code with this cute little ball. What a better way of learning coding with this toy.

Very cool toy and robot combo! We bought this for our kids to get a better handle on robotics, and then we started playing with it ourselves. There is a coding mode, as well as a draw mode, so you can use it right out of the box to move it around with the phone app. The draw mode can get a bit tricky at first figuring out which direction you need to draw to have the sphero move. But you can get the hang of it pretty quickly.

This was a cool gadget that I purchased for my 11-year-old son for Christmas. It has a lot of features, easy to use apps, and the games were what made it fun for everyone. There are (2) apps that can be downloaded and depending on the interest of gaming or learning code you can navigate through both quite easily. We enjoyed the games the most, but once my son played those for a while he started exploring into the EDU app which was great for him to start experiencing.

There's so much this Sphero can do. I had to buy it after taking a college course that used it. Your coding skills will make this Sphero work. You code it, and it will show you your work. It rolls, turns, senses, does tricks, and talks back to you. It's also waterproof and has its own gyros. Ease of use is middle if you're not used to coding - it does have an option to use block or text coding

when I got the Sphero bolt it was supposed to be just a toy but then once I got to use it and check out the edu part of it it was actually more than just a toy it became a learning experience that I come to enjoy making programs and watching the ball following is amazing

My sons into coding and thought this would be a great little tool. He loves it and has been using it almost everyday. App is pretty simple to setup and you can run preconfigured scripts just to see what it does. It seems to be pretty sturdy but time will tell.
