Bought this to be able to use my unused SSD. Started to make it as storage and when I transfer data, it is really fast compared with the regular USB 3.0. Just make sure you are buying the correct cable. This don't need any external power supply. Plug-and-play-Sweet!

I now have a 2tb SSD Portable Flash Drive! Much larger and SO much faster than a thumb drive!

Copied data to an SSD from laptop. The transfer rate stayed consistently at 350+ mb/sec. The adapter became a little warm. Used it only few times. So far happy with it.

This cable is a great cable if you have a drive failure in your computer and it will not boot up you will have to replace it and with this cable you can recover your data from the old drive.

This cable serves its purpose for a reasonable cost. The transfer speed is fast.

This device has been great. I have a laptop with 3 USB A type ports and 1 USB C type, so it was nice getting this and not having to unplug other things (as I may have this plugged in, an external hard drive, a wired mouse, and sometimes something else in the last USB drive. Speeds were great, hard to compare to USB type A anything as I don't have a similar device. If you're plugging in a new HDD/SSD you need to know what you're doing so that Win 10 will recognize it, so don't assume with new drives that it is plug and play. Works as I hoped and expected so very pleased.

I have a handful of external drives that I use in an external recorder and this handy adapter makes it fast and easy accessing the files on all those drives.

Up until I purchased this adapter the WD Blue 1TB SSD sat unused on the shelf. I needed a USB-C connector to mate the SSD to my Lenovo Yoga T730 i7 8th gen. 2 in 1 laptop. The total package works as it was designed to. Enuf said - - - - - - - -

This cable makes it fast and easy to clone hard drives, especially for hard drive upgrades! Good for external storage as well.

Works great but I noticed no difference in speed from a standard USB 3 type A port. Would like to see an affordable Thunderbolt 3 version.

The tool works great for making an image of your drive for backup or doing an SSD upgrade.

Works great for those who need usb c connectivity. I use it on my iMac for Time Machine back-ups.

Did a full cloning of a hard drive with this cable. Worked very well!

Does exactly as advertised, however just in case you’re like me and didn’t realize, but you still need to power the drive with some kind of power supply and an ide cable.

It does what it says its supposed to do! Do not regret my purchase!

This works on both Windows and macOS -- even on Apple Silicon. Transfer rates were exceptional migrating a 2TB drive onto a 4TB drive -- faster than backing up to USB stick. Plug+play+forget.

Worked great to transfer files from Laptop to SSD.

I have the USB A to SATA. Now with the dongle life, I knew the SATA could connect to USB C. It works fine. Only time with tell about its endurance.
