It's been a busy year for Portsmouth's Gasman, what with playing live and starting his own tag, and one can hear the influence of his support tour with the Cardiacs on Superlife, his ninth album. The record is full of beatless electronic lullabies such as InchRXG3,Inch which unsettles in all the best ways, and InchHelpline,Inch with it's distinct sense of the uncanny just around the corner. Opener InchRuterInch is a majestic, synth-led carousel of notes where the Blackpool Pier meets '90s trance. It's another winner from The Gasman's trademark InchGaylordInch sound.
Yawning Man shows right from the start what a one-of-a-kind band they are. And this has not changed whatsoever.
