Loewe,F. / Carradine / Hackmann / Barber - Paint Your Wagon (New York City Center Encores) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Masterworks Broadway will the New York City Center Encores! Cast recording of Lerner & Loewe's Paint Your Wagon starring Keith Carradine, Justin Guarini and Alexandra Socha, on May 27, 2016. Filled with gorgeous standards such as InchThey Call the Wind Maria, Inch InchI Talk to the Trees, Inch and InchWand'rin' Star, Inch Paint Your Wagon is Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's sweepingly ambitious and surprisingly realistic take on freedom, family, and racism in the Gold Rush-happy America of 1853. The outstanding March 2015 production by Encores! #brought the almost-forgotten show back to New York's mainstream stage for the first time since the original Broadway production closed in 1952. And because the original cast album - an early limited capacity monaural LP - had omitted so much of the music, the score was ripe for rediscovery and a brand new recording. Helping to capture the spirit of the original Broadway production were the full handwritten scores used in 1951 by Franz Allers (Loewe's favorite musical director) and discovered accidentally by Rodgers & Hammerstein musicologist Bruce Pomahac at the bottom of a musty Warner Chappell trunk stored, curiously, at the R&H offices in New York. Album co-producer and Encores! Music Director Rob Berman leads the thirty member cast and thirty-one piece Encores! Orchestra, in the 2015 stereo cast album that celebrates the scope and riches of Lerner & Loewe's exceptional score. Much of the original dance music orchestrated by Trude Rittmann, created in close collaboration with both Loewe and choreographer Agnes de Mille, appears on this recording for the first time. Also recorded for the first time on this album is the bonus track InchWhat Do Other Folks Do?Inch which was dropped from the original production before the show reached New York and whose historical importance is clear Lerner and Loewe would later recycle

L'Uomo Nero - Andiamo Nel Deserto - VINYL LP

New EP 'Andiamo Nel Deserto' (Let's Go to the Desert) from desert blues rockers L'Uomo Nero will mark the launch of a concept of three EPs built on a crepuscular and complex police investigation, which artworks will reveal some missing clues. Paranormal phenomenons, a fantastic background and magical situations sprinkle the four tracks of the 'Andiamo Nel Deserto' EP, a blues rock gem that genuinely fits in the US Desert Scene's tradition. L'Uomo Nero is a desert rhythm and blues rock three-piece hailing from the New Mexican High Desert. Are they helpless victims of unimaginable forces that can drive humans mad by their mere manifestation? Or fearless Investigators and Occult Detectives who confronts the minions of darkness in encounters, in which humans, although appear outmatched, defend their sanity uncovering the mysteries of tranquility in defiance of the suffering we experience from the things we cannot manage or restrain. Occult blues rockers L'Uomo Nero play with their band name to build an intriguing sonic trilogy made of EPs 'Andiamo Nel Deserto', 'Del la Mer Elle' and 'Voda Atebo Ohen'. The records follow the adventures of occult Detective Nico L'oscuro and his supernatural and magical practices to uncover the mystery behind the InchdisappearanceInch of a woman in New Mexico... Created on a fantastic thriller basis and inspired by American author H.P. Lovecraft, the three EPs take the protagonist through the stages of grief, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. All three records together form the framework of a gloomy detective investigation illustrated by a special artwork that reveals some missing clues. The entire trilogy will be issued between fall 2020 and spring 2021, with first EP 'Andiamo Nel Deserto' coming out in fall 2020 on Desert Records.
