One of the most amazing aspects of Kuhn's playing is his touch control on the piano. His mastery of the soft muted hues and the loud thunderous colors of the piano is unmatched in jazz. On this new album of mostly Kuhn compositions, the pianists virtuosity, tone production and keyboard dynamics are perfectly showcased. Long-time collaborators Steve Swallow and Joey Baron create tension and excitement in the music.

Despite having worked in bands led by such towering figures as John Coltrane and Stan Getz, pianist Steve Kuhn has remained one of the great unsung jazz pianists. In 1986, Kuhn formed a trio with bassist Ron Carter and drummer Al Foster for a live recording at the Village Vanguard. Now, 20 years later, Kuhn makes his Blue Note Records debut by reconvening this formidable trio for another live recording - this time a remarkable set of standards and originals captured in the summer of 2006 at the renowned club, Birdland.

F-WORD were the first L.A. punk band to an album. Their 1978 debut was also their only record, since they disbanded when Dutch Schultz/Will Shatter (bass) and Steve EffeteDePace (drums) formed Flipper. Singer Rik L. Rik went on to SoCal punk rock notoriety. Trademark Posh Boy sound for these pioneers of Californian fast pop punk. Digipak. Get Back. 2005.
