Old-time music at it's purest, from a direct source! This first full-length solo album by J.D. Wilkes (Legendary Shack Shakers, J.D. Wilkes & the Dirt Daubers) has true crossover appeal, catering to both traditional folk lovers and fans of J.D.'s hard-driving rock 'n' roll projects. The album also features Charlie Stamper, a fiddle player who comes from an Appalachian lineage of mountain players his daddy was field-recorded, and his brother played with Bill Monroe. He is a true, previously unknown source of the pre-war style that provided the root to all forms of modern bluegrass, blues, and country music.
