STRFKR - Reptilians - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Influenced by 80\'s Hip-Hop style, electro clash and lo-fi psyche, this Portland, OR based three piece craft handmade indie dance-pop delivered by dual drummers and stick to your brain melodies. This is some of the catchiest, most danceable pop put to tape. The experience of seeing Starfucker\'s live performance delivers a certain nostalgia; a reminder of what it was like to be a teenager inspired, curious, open, hungry for anything new, and smiling uncontrollably. Whether dressed in \'80s era Brooklyn hip-hop style or electro clash, the three bring a new experience and unpredictability to every show. After seeing Starfucker perform, Dylan Magierek of Badman Recording Co. Was blown away. \'Seeing them play for that first time was one of those very rare occasions when I immediately felt I had to work with these guys. Their sound is absolutely infectious and they have all the elements I look for in a great band.\' Recording at Portland's Type Foundry, the debut album of Josh Hodges, Ryan Biornstad and Shawn Glassford is like playing an 8-bit video game where your primary objective is to overcome heartbreak and an obsession with death, your only weapon a love laser mounted on a space bike that zaps out bright red blips and neon bleeps. It\'s poppy, it\'s catchy, and it\'s palatable, and that\'s a good thing. InchStarfucker\'s forthcoming self-titled album is a fine piece of fractured, homemade pop, with handclaps, bleary synthesizers, drum machines, clunky acoustic guitars, and honeyed lo-fi harmonies.Inch - Pitchforkmedia Voted one of Portland Oregon's Best New Bands of 2008 by Willamette Week and a featured artist on Myspace.

Like hot oil on a stripper pole, like KY Jelly on a wiffle ball bat, like that mystery residue inside your leather hot pants, Chow Nasty is the musical lube that keeps San Francisco slippery. For years the electro-sexual trio has riled up the clubs, galleries, warehouses, and garages across the city, honing their punk-funk party rock to dangerously debauched levels. Finally, Chow Nasty delivers their first-ever recording, UNGAWA.. THE PARTY STARTS RIGHT F*#kING NOW.

On Reptilians, STRFKR's second full-length album and first for long-time tag home Polyvinyl, the band built on what they had accomplished with their self-titled debut album (2008) and the the Jupiter EP (2009) to create an infectious combination of acoustic instrumentation and electronic production. Originally released on March 8, 2011, Reptilians has since become one of the band's most intriguing and successful releases to date. Featuring fan favorites InchBury Us AliveInch and InchJulius, Inch Reptilians was written almost entirely by principal songwriter Joshua Hodges with help from bandmates Shawn Glassford, Keil Corcoran, and long time friend Randy Bemrose. The band mixed with Jacob Portrait in the famed Portland studio The Odditorium. Lyrically, the album focuses primarily on death and the end of the world, two subjects intertwined at the forefront of Hodges' mind following the passing of his grandmother. To celebrate it's 10-year anniversary, Reptilians will be released as a remastered deluxe reissue (2xLP) with 4 bonus tracks and reimagined artwork by original artist Sohale Kevin Darouian.
