About this product

For Sun Of The Sleepless, teaming up with a long-time friend, who also plays guitar at the group's shows, suggested itself. InchWe make a good match,Inch explains Schwadorf. InchI wanted to create otherworldly, ghostly, soundtrack-like music without clinging to just one style,Inch says S.K. about his solo project. InchIt came together intuitively from different areas, also what's called dungeon synth these days.Inch Regarding the lyrical content, S.K. keeps his cards close to his chest, but the name Cavernous Gate is telling enough, meaning Incha gate into unknown realms, dark and forlorn.Inch Similar to Schwadorf, he audibly draws from the likes of early Ulver, Emperor or Katatonia - and within this triangle, their split album might be the most vintage Prophecy Productions of late... With Sun Of The Sleepless and Nachtmahr, we offer you two explorers of the night side - the night side which inspired foreboding characters such as Lord Byron and Georg Trakl to put their confrontations with death and the devil into verse. Sun Of The Sleepless, already thought lost by some, are featured with four stylistically diverse, but always pitch-black compositions, adding a mighty Burzum interpretation in keeping with tradition ('Dunkelheit') and a unique Dark Throne cover version. Nachtmahr contribute three scruffy tracks to this split CD that speak for themselves. Album Tracks 1. A Wolf in Sheep's Skin Clad 2. Romanze Zur Nacht 3. Dunkelheit 4. Neunter November 5. Tausend Kalte Winter 6. Spring '99 7. I 8. II 9. III

Part two of a trilogy, Ylem builds upon the concept and lyrical theme of the band's independently released debut album, Urraca, by reinforcing the mysticism of the previous album while exploring new themes of displacement, fear, wonder, and transcendence. With the addition of a new drummer and an evolving approach to songwriting, Sunless further develops their signature sound with increasingly diverse, dense, and technical offerings. Album Tracks 1. Spiraling Into the Unfathomable 2. Ascended Forms 3. The Unraveling of Arcane Past 4. Atramentous 5. Flesh-Particle Amalgamation 6. Forgotten (Remnants of Life) 7. Perpetual Contortion 8. Molding Axioms of the Metaphysical

Sun Of The Sleepless is the solo project of Schwadorf (aka Markus Stock), the mastermind behind two of Prophecy Productions' most popular acts, Empyrium and The Vision Bleak. The band creates poetic black metal dirges that twist with cold, raw atmospheres. Despite it's formation in 1998, InchTo the ElementsInch is Sun Of The Sleepless' full-length debut, following it's split EP with Nachtmahr (2004), the band's debut EP InchPoems to the Wretches HeartsInch (1999) and the coveted 7Inch InchTausend Kalte WinterInch released in 2000, which featured a trip hop take on the Darkthrone classic InchEn As I Dype SkogenInch(!!). Now, 13 years later, Sun Of The Sleepless rises from the grave to deliver a startling album of new material! With InchTo the ElementsInch, Schwadorf creates songs that brim with aura and mood, building on the foundation that was laid with SoTS' previous works while injecting an entirely new level of intensity and incandescence. Described by it's creator as InchA fist in the face of a shallow world!Inch the record's icy cold black metal holds a doom-laden edge warmed only by poetic lyrics inspired by great romantic writers of the ages. Tracks such as the searing InchIn the Realm of the BarkInch, the darkened InchPhoenix RiseInch and the haunting InchWhere in My Childhood Lived a WitchInch are indelible fortresses of frost calling for comparison to stylistic stalwarts such as Emperor, Darkthrone, early Ulver or Katatonia, brought to life anew with an original touch. Sun Of The Sleepless has returned and the world is on warning! Album Tracks 1. The Burden 2. Motions 3. The Owl 4. Where in My Childhood Lived a Witch 5. Forest Crown 6. In the Realm of the Bark 7. Phoenix Rise
