Tripod is easy to use once familiar with adjusting height and sturdiness. I like to use this tripod specifically when taking moon/star photos and photographing wildlife. Keeps camera nice and level and reduces shakiness from hands for clear photos. Super lightweight and is compact for easy storage. Highly recommend this product for anyone new or experienced in photography.

Found myself in Salem for the recent solar eclipse without my tripod so headed to Best Buy to see what they had. I picked this one based on it's weight and sturdiness. The leg locking mechanisms work very well, as do the pan/tilt controls. Maybe too heavy if you're back-packing but for the casual photographer, this will do the trick. A solid base for pictures and casual videos.

This is an exceptional product! Even though the price seems a little expensive, DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON TRIPODS. Cheap tripods break easily, they fall over (which can break your camera). This is SOOOO EASY TO USE, and it's ridiculously stable. I use a sony a6700, and the tripod is able to easily hold it.

I chose this Tri-pod over others because it extended longer than most all others. It’s fairly sturdy and easy to raise and lower. Could use some clearer instructions. Needs a more sturdy iPhone handler. This part broke off of mine the second time it was used with an iPhone.

The tripod is solidly built. The shoe is very difficult to remove and insert. ONly after a week of using the tripod on a daily basis, the hook for the weight fell off and it is only glued on and is plastic. Disappointing but fixable.

Tripod is really nice compared to the other ones that I have purchased in the past. However, it is just miss leading when you show two tripods in a photo side by side when you only get on in a box that has to be taken apart to become the mono pod.

Bought this for my daughter who taking a photography class. She has had nothing but good things to say about it. Ive purchased cheaper tripods in the past and been very disappointed.

A tripod/monopod that lets you mount a camcorder, DSLR cam or a smart phone. Good for amateurs that are looking for a base price for inexpensive equipment.

I LOVE THIS BABY :) Even tho it’s sorta annoying to take the camera on and off with the twisting to get the SD card out so I can transfer videos. BUT my friend told me there’s this inexpensive adapter thing you can put on there so you can keep the camera on the stand and never have to take it off and you can just slide the SD card on and off. So I gotta go get that. It comes with a holder for your phone so if you don’t have a camera you Gucci. It has the green bubble thingy so u can see if the camera is leveled and it also has another yellow bubble thing so u can see if the stand is even on all 3 legs. Range goes pretty tiny to pretty tall AND YOU CAN USE IT OUTSIDE:) I’m very happy with this baby.

This is one of my favorite purchases from Best Buy. I think I purchased about six over 10 years, that's how much I love it. Great item! Great!

Great piece very sturdy would buy again recommend

I purchased two of the older model about 2 1/2 years ago. At least one section of the leg broke or fastener stopped working. This model just slide the rotating head into the shaft versus screwing on like the older model. The legs constantly come unsnapped when opening n closing tripod. There's a cap with hook on the center shaft that falls off because it doesn't screw on. Very poor design.

When I saw this tripod in store I thought it was great. Some parts seemed more loose and wobbly. Although the metal used is strong and the tripod itself is heavier than others, allowing enough balance to keep it grounded without any issues, it is just portable enough even coming with a handle on the body. Would recommend for someone who doesn't want to spend hundreds on a professional tripod but for someone wanting a little more than the cheap, flimsy ones we often see. Careful regarding the height, it might be shorter.

It does hold the camera well but not with a long lens.Fair for the price but I would recommend spending the extra and buy something else.

After one month of use one of the tripod legs kept popping out of the head, and trying to catch it as it fell caused the metal leg to break. BB wouldn't do anything because it was over 15 days since purchase and silly me, I didn't pay extra for a store warranty. Sunpak sent a replacement head and legs free of charge, so good on them. But while trying to tighten the knob that holds the monopod extended, the plastic broke and the knob and nut came through the head into my hand. The knob stabilizes the camera head so now I can't use the tripod at all. I'll talk to Sunpak again for a replacement but will search for a more robust tripod, and NOT from "Best" Buy.

This is poorly constructed, and could barely support my camera, much less allow for maneuvering my camera when it was on the tripod. Part of the base of the tripod broke within the first week of use. DO NOT BUY!!! A waste of money.

I bought this when traveling and needed a tripod for an event. The build quality is terrible. Out of the box, the tab to tighten the camera on the mount popped off. I needed to use a pliers to tighten the camera onto the mount. The tilt on the camera mount isn't flat in its lowest position (down a couple degrees. Extremely annoying trying to tighten the tilt and get it flat so the pictures aren't at an angle. So, the tripod may be level according to the built in bubble level but the head is still tilted. The worst part is the design of the head. You have to loosen the wing knob for the head to turn. The groove on the tripod is not deep enough. If the knob is even slightly loose to turn, the whole head can come off. I found out the hard way when I tilted the tripod to adjust the legs and watched my camcorder bounce off the cement. I would not recommend this tripod to anyone. It's too bad because the carry handle is nice, the legs are good, the foam on the legs make it easy to grip, etc...

The part that tightens the base to the stand will no longer tighten. i will be taking back to the store fir replacement

This a great addition for taking portrait and night-time photographs.
