- Description: Although her reign as a Pop Princess was relatively brief, the vivacious Susan Maughan was a fabulous singer and her cover of 'Bobby's Girl' became one of the iconic records of the early 60s. Moreover, with her earlier dance band experience she had the talent to sustain a long career, in which she wasn't reliant on hit singles to maintain either her popularity or reputation, and she continued working well into the 21st Century. This compilation features her first five singles, her debut LP, and a number of stray EP tracks which hadn't appeared on contemporaneous singles or LPs. It perfectly showcases her versatility, from the mainstream Pop of her own early records and covers of contemporaneous Pop hits, to classy updates of instantly-recognisable standards. A number of these sides have never previously appeared on CD, making for a unique and most welcome package. Album Tracks 1. Mama Do the Twist 2. Blue Night in Yokohama 3. Baby Doll Twist (Broken Doll) 4. Some of These Days 5. Changing Partners 6. I've Got to Learn to Forget 7. I Didn't Mean What I Said 8. Too Late 9. I'll Close My Eyes 10. Bobby's Girl 11. Come a Little Closer 12. Hand a Handkerchief to Helen 13. I'm a Lonely One Too 14. I'm Just Wild About Harry 15. Eddie My Love 16. Charlie Is My Darling 17. Jim 18. Norman 19. Oh, Johnny! Oh, Johnny!
