Sutrah - Aletheia - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Sutrah's pummeling debut Dunes, which took the better part of 7 years to crystallize, attempts to reconcile a wide gamut of interests and approaching death metal with an atypical color palette. Their affection for Eastern philosophy and culture, as well as a deep curiosity for the cosmos, metaphysics, and the question of spirituality, shine on this jaw dropping taking technical death metal into another realm. Album Tracks 1. Reveil 2. Dunes 3. Effervesce 4. Stargazer 5. Induration 6. Akrasia 7. The Plunge 8. Babel

The fact that an accomplished violinist can also play the piano with equal virtuosity and artistic perfection suggests an extraordinary musical talent. Tomoko Mayeda's recording of Mozart's late Viennese violin sonatas already revealed that this is true in her case. On this album, the Japanese artist now presents in a unique way the three violin sonatas by Johannes Brahms by first recording the entire piano part and then adding the violin part in a second recording session. Brahms described his violin sonatas as InchSonatas for Piano and ViolinInch - himself as an extremely virtuoso pianist being aware of the difficulty and prominent position of the piano part. With this , Tomoko Mayeda once again demonstrates her extraordinary dual talent.
