Suuns - Zeroes QC - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2020 . Lustre is the musical project of Henrik Sunding who goes under the pseudonym Nachtzeit. Lustre began in 2008 after the disolution of The Burning. Prior to both, Sunding also used to be a drummer of the band Hypothermia. Unlike most black metal artists, Lustre uses guitars and vocals as background instruments and instead uses keyboards and synths as the primary instrument. Lustre's lyrical themes include nature, darkness, mysticism, and spirituality.

Montreal's Suuns possess a rare trait in rock music restraint. They use it like an instrument, which makes their debut full-length Zeroes QC as unsettling as it is wonderfully exasperating. It's immediately apparent in album opener InchArmed for Peace,Inch a track that starts off like a robot breaking down in a hot desert; the song's mechanic beat plods like iron-shoed footsteps as the melody of a wheezing synth mirrors the crackling sound of old transistors and circuitry being cooked in the sun. It's deceptively lulling, the tension almost unnoticeably wrenching up and up until the track unexpected. Album Tracks 1. Armed for Peace 2. Gaze 3. Arena 4. Pie IX 5. Marauder 6. Sweet Nothing 7. Up Past the Nursery 8. PVC 9. Fear 10. Organ Blues
