About this product
Perfectly Still may be the first album released by the trio Riedel/Svensson/Skokic, but the members are hardly newcomers to the music business Sarah Riedel (vocals), Carl Svensson (guitar), Viktor Skokic (double bass) have all figured in a wide variety of contexts, and they've been a trio since 2009. Perfectly Still is a musical tour of their acoustic universe, and all nine tracks were either composed or picked up by members of the trio. This also features guest performers Thomas Backman on alto sax and clarinets, and Martin on percussion.

After touring on the back of their twisted non-retrospective InchPunk RockInch in 2004, The Mekons picked up their instruments and lost themselves far beyond the beaten path in the wilds of the English countryside. Removed from the restraints of conventional studio technology, they navigate an undulating sonic landscape of lavish melodies, mantric chants, and shimmering acoustic experimentation. This is their first new material in five years since 2002's critically acclaimed InchOOOH!Inch Look for them on tour this fall.
![Pachelbel / Rosenmueller,Johann / Paduch - Festal Sacred Music - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/91c911b9-295a-4f55-82f5-44f54d4ff007.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Their influence on Bach and Handel notwithstanding, most of Johann Pachelbel's psalm concertos and cantatas for large vocal forces are today virtually unknown. Scored for all the instruments mentioned in the text (with slight alteration), his setting of the 150th psalm, InchLobet den Herrn in seinem HeiligtumInch, resulted in a work for 5 vocalists, strings, oboes, bassoon, recorders, harp (!), 5 trumpets (!), kettle-drums and basso continuo. This perfect example of Baroque musical splendor features lavish sound painting and elevated the genre of 'psalm concerto' to new heights.
