I purchased 2 of these to go in my basement theater. They compliment my bowers and Wilkins 600 anniversary edition 5.2.4 surround sound well. I have these on the iso feet which help significantly with vibrations but that is not what this review is about. These have plenty of power to fill my 16x30x7.5 room at half gain. They are tight, agile and sound big! Movies: These dig deep! They dip to frequencies below the human ears range which can make for cool effects. During movies with earthquakes the audio engineers will sometimes throw in really low frequencies that make your room shake with no perceived sound - these can handle that!!! Music: These are pretty quick and tight. They are not as tight as their sister, the sb1000 pro, but they are no slouch. I have not tried them in sealed mode but I don’t think it’s totally necessary as I’m 90% movies/TV. App/features: Use the app! Download REW, buy a microphone and dial these in! The difference is huge. SUMMARY: Nothing out there will touch the quality with the features of the pb1000 pro at this price point. I challenge anyone to find something that has the tech and sound under $600. It doesn’t exist. I do wish these came in different colors. That is the only room for improvement I see.

I added this piece to the ensemble in my Cave, assuming tgat it would be portable lol. I lookedcat the Hsu also, which was considerably weightier. The PB1000 Pro works with my Denon AVR 4700 in a (currently) 9.1 config, carrying the heavy weight for a pastiche of integrated pieces which include Dali Oberon 5s, vintage phase Tech 7Ts (surrounds), and Rockville and Polk sats (height). I have about 52 sq meters of kind of L-shaped drywalled basement space with 8-foot ceilings except for the large cold air return on the left side of the smaller leg, hence the smaller sats. The original plan was to have the sub double for outside movie night (I bought an ELAC 1225 for that). I spoke with our friends about the relatve size of the PB1000 for the room and was confident it could handle it. It did. Nicely. It wasnt the least expensive option, but any misgivings I may have had were quickly assuaged by the quality of its performance and the versatility of the app. I am a a fidgeter by nature and enjoy cinema and a variety of musical genres. The value of the app, along with the Denon apo for should not be underestimated. My Cave is not an audiophile listening room, but I was able to develop a pretty good sound that fills the room without annoyance. I am very plaesd with the SVS. We watched the action movie "Nobody" with Bob Odenkirk the other night, and the audio was supreme. I actually heard myself giggling at at the quality of the sound all around me. All clear, all detailed, and all enjoyable. The SVS PB1000 Pro did not disappoint. I would make the sme choice again if presented with the opportunity. Mike S.

First want to say that this subwoofer is perfect for movies and music. The app is incredible and easy to use. I paired this up with a Denon receiver and Martin Logan 40i speakers, with a 9.1 setup with atmos. This sub is just spot on with its ability to keep up with anything, music or movies. Very natural sounding and with no buzzing or other noises that hear out of some other brands. I would definitely buy again and looking forward to going back to get another one for a 9.2 setup. SVS makes a superb product!

This subwoofer has been incredible over the last month. It's clear sound and deep bass are very enjoyable across music to action movies. The bass packs a heavy punch and at times can rattled the gutters outside. Do yourself a favor, and possibly a disservice to your neighbors and buy this. Paired with Klipsch RP towers, etc...

This is my third subwoofer. Apologies to other brands I have had, but I consider this to be my first “real” sub. The PB-1000 Pro is SVS’s entry level product line, but it still stands above the lower priced competition. Subs are such a key part of a home theatre. I would rather spend $800 to get something that works GREAT instead spending $500 to get something that just works ok. Even at $800, this sub is a great value for the money, it hits hard and sounds great. It has reduced cost versions of many features from SVS’s higher priced lines. SVS has great customer support. Emailed questions were usually responded to within minutes, even on Saturday evening. Their web setup guides are great. If you are not expert you should really check these out. See the guides on speaker size, calibration, and digital bass management. BTW, you really do want to use the app to configure the sub, it is much easier and allows for custom parametric equalization etc. No regrets.

Bought this to accent our Klipsch RP series and holy bass!!! music and movie aficionados are gonna love it. This sub reminds me of an old song: I felt the earth, move, under my feet. I felt the sky come tumbling down” If you like sound quality mixed with a guttural growl, cant go wrong with this sub. I want 1 more for a 7.1.2 set up. Plz forgive the mess. We’re rearranging the home theater.

Holy Cow!! I had read/watched everything on subwoofers from many different brands. I went with SVS and I must say I’m beyond pleased. About 2000 sq ft in my downstairs and it rattles the house. Scares the kids when they are asleep and it’s only half way up. Music sounds awesome, movies are even better now with bass you can feel. Gonna buy another one for that stereo effect. I’ve regretted a lot of purchases I’ve made over the years and this is one purchase I’m happy I made.

SVS PB 1000 pro is the best subwoofer in the $850 price range. Outperforms more expensive brands. Excellent for music and movies. Definitely the best product!

This is my second SVS subwoofer, I can’t say enough how much of a great value these subs are, yes Im sure there are more powerful ones out there and probably a little better, but for the average home theater user you get a lot of “boom” for your money, being able to adjust the settings via the app from the comfort of your chair in the middle of a movie in the dark is priceless!!

So far so good. However, it is a little difficult to set up the sounds settings to where or how you want it.

Superb versatility with the SVS PB 1000 Pro! My objective was to replace my 20 year old hard punching dual 12" 600W Pinnacle. The ol gal is humming and buzzing again. So I debating against ported or sealed and planned to add two subs, one on each side of my Paradigm tower speakers and in the corners of the room's walls. The common debate being ported is best for movies and sealed is best for music. When I learned that the ports can be switched closed and open with the use of the App the decision was easy. I purchased and installed two of the SVS PB 1000 Pros. I first performed and auto tune on my Pioneer Elite VSX receiver. Then I downloaded the SVS App onto my phone and started fine tuning. This was the fun part! The App is easy to use and absolutely amazing; allowing vast versatility in setting up the sub/s to my room size and listening preference. The app allows easy switching between the two subs and real time adjustments and most importantly it accommodates 3 presets to be saved; music, movie and custom. I dialed in my music using specific songs from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Natalie Merchant and KT Tunstall. I had so much fun shaking the walls of this old home to find my favorite settings. Then saved em to the "Music" presets on both subs. Switching between port open and closed with my selected music playing and neighbor bothering levels was paramount. Ports closed/sealed mode was so smooth with a knock out punches. I also found for my room environment with ports closed was that I preferred the polarity to be set negative. The low pass filter and volume adjustments allow easy fine tune matching to the main speakers, receiver volume, room environment and personal preference. Regarding movies, I opened the ports, bumped the volume up and saved to the movie preset. I am very happy with my decision. My neighbors, probably not. Lastly, the guy at BB was great and demo switched between ported and sealed SVS subs however he did not demo the App or appear to know that the ported sub ports could be closed using the App. It was in someone else's review that I learned of this feature and for me it's a game changer. Cheers and happy listening.

This is a first rate subwoofer in a relatively moderate sized box. After an Audyssey calbration and some tinkering, the sub really sings. It can reach down very low and can make your floor vibrate and your walls shake, and can it with a refined, clean sound. The phone app is a welcome feature that allows you make adjustments without having to get behind the sub to access the amplifier back control plate. To top it off, if you want to experiment with sealing one or both ports, all you have to do is call SVS and two foam plugs will be shipped to you free of charge. Even though the price has gone up by 20% or so (likely due to worldwide chip and circuit shortages), the PB-1000 Pro is still a worthwhile purchase at its current price.

WOW it hits low. You feel the shaking before you hear it. Bought 2 of these and love them. The SVS app is great to customize your system. I upgraded from a Klipsch R-120sw and a R-100sw . One in the front and one in the back

This is my first full size subwoofer and my first ported sub, so I don't totally have a frame of reference, but this definitely changed my soundstage for the better. SVS' tool recommended the next size up PB-2000 for my setup. I'm sure its awesome, but this one did the trick for me with a pair of 6.5 inch bookshelves and matching center in a 150 sqft room. I did end up getting the SVS Soundpath decoupling feet because this thing on a vinyl plank floor shook the whole house. The app is pretty cool. Makes it easy to lessen the sub in the mix when people are sleeping.

Love how low these get, have 2 of them in my theatre setup after one of my klipsch amps went out, love the app and the quality for the price.

Subwoofer enclosure seems to be stronger than compressed wood. Subwoofer enclosure is very heavy. Subwoofer cone seems to be sturdy specialized material. Not old black paper design. Grill cover is secure extremely well. Once you insert the grill, it will take maneuvering to remove the grill. The subwoofer was easy to connect to the phone app. And the phone application was not difficult to navigate. I also purchased the bluetooth connection that I could connect my sub to my preamp. The bluetooth connection has worked seamlessly. Please note that this is the base model sub that will connect with bluetooth.

Really is a great sub. I've tested it against other sub brands and its the clear winner. I'd always recommend running at least 2 subs. Just place it properly, set your crossovers right, and tuning should be somewhat minimal unless you have a horrible room acoustically. Try Blade Runner 2049, Cabin in the woods, Dune, etc and you'll love it.

I have owned other subwoofers before but this one is one of the best sounding one ive heard. This is SVS's new model the SVS PB1000 Pro (the previous model wasn't "pro"). With this one you get two ports, 325 watts (25 more watts) and a customizable DSP you can customize with the SVS app; all this is paired up with a 12" cone, making this thing go all the way down to 17Hz. This thing produces some serious bass, now imagine having two of these babies, I would, and I am going to buy another one soon.

This subwoofer is superb in every way. The bass is massive with smooth response. Movies or music. Easy to setup with the app. I have 5 subwoofers. I highly recommend this part one because if you get a pair you will definitely see the difference.

Great low-end frequency response and room filling sound.
