About this product

A sweeping, guitar-driven road trip that recalls and reinvigorates the slowcore and alt rock of the 90s and earlyaughts, Mount Zero, the debut LP from Swapmeet, marks the moment the Australian four-piece come into their own. Following their dreamy 2024 debut EP Oxalis, Mount Zero arrives on the heels of the band's signing to LA-based tag Winspear, after stirring up buzz throughout Australia, taking home awards for Best and Best Song (InchCeiling FanInch) at the South Australian Music Awards and earning the title of 'Best Emerging Artist' at SXSW Sydney. Mingling airy sweetness with jagged surrealism, Mount Zero transmutes so many of the regrets and uncertainties of young adulthood into a burgeoning, newfound confidence. Though the members of Swapmeet often begin their songs by writing individually, the tracks on Mount Zero ended up circling common themes first loves, first heartbreaks, first embarrassments, first disasters. As they've done since their earliest days as a band, Swapmeet traded instruments throughout Mount Zero and shared production duties as a foursome, developing their sound by layering dozens (sometimes hundreds) of tracks within each song, then carefully removing elements until the production took a clear shape. The result is a record where Swapmeet bottle up the tooth-gritting intensity of feeling yourself change at the cellular level under reality's unyielding pressures. It's a tribute to all the lives that can never be lived, all the paths that will never be followed-and an ode to the one that lies just ahead, too.

Mizery - Mizery - CASSETTES

* TITLE HAS NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED! PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYWHERE ONLINE (INCLUDING A PREORDER) UNTIL FEBRUARY 4 *San Diego's Mizery are a defiant powerhouse ready to shake things up with their crossover hardcore sound. Originally breaking out with 2014's Survive The Vibe EP followed by 2016 full-length Absolute Light (Flatspot Records), Mizery quickly grabbed attention with their groove-driven rhythms and dynamic live show. Formed as an idea by childhood friends Jose Luna (vocals) and Taylor Parker (lead guitar), things really came to fruition when the pair met drummer Cayle Sain and soon enlisted Miguel InchMikeyInch Salazar on bass and began creating as a four-piece. Following the album , Mizery toured alongside genre heavyweights including Power Trip, Terror, and Backtrack, and added Ahmad Ali on bass, moving Mikey to rhythm guitar. Like the rest of the world, the band stalled during the pandemic, but kept writing and were ready to come back with full momentum. In December 2023 the unexpected passing of drummer Cayle Sain, who also performed with Twitching Tongues, God's Hate, and GhosteMane, rattled the music community and understandably put a pause on Mizery. While processing their grief and reflecting, the members of Mizery knew they had to continue on and a found recording gave them a new sense of purpose. Jose and Taylor discovered Cayle had taken pre-production demos they had sent him and he tracked drums for them in a professional studio. With the help of producer Taylor Young (The Pit), the band was able to obtain these drum tracks and use them for what would become their self-titled EP. Due out March 20th, 2026 on Flatspot Records, the Mizery EP is an overtly political record built around renewal and reflection. Across the six tracks lyrics are utilized as a weapon, as Jose shares, InchIt's a reflection of a world that some of us see, and others choose to igno

Sutermeister / Cathomas / Held - Orchestral Works 1 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Heinrich Sutermeister (1910-95) belongs to the generation of Swiss composers after Bloch, Honegger, Martin and Schoeck. The runaway success of his operatic version of Romeo and Juliet - in the 1950s it was the most widely produced modern opera after Der Rosenkavalier - soon spread his reputation far afield, and conductors as prominent as Böhm, Karajan and Sawallisch championed his works. Although his star has waned in the quarter-century since his death, the four orchestral works recorded here - ranging from the dramatic suite he drew from that first Shakespearean operatic success via the easy-going charm of two lighter suites to his deeply felt response to the Swiss landscape - bring a salutary reminder of why his music appeals so directly to it's audiences. This generously filled recording (it's over 87 minutes in length) is the first in a project where Rainer Held will be recording unknown Swiss orchestral repertoire for on Toccata Classics.

Yowie - Synchromysticism - CASSETTES

Since 2000, St. Louis' Yowie has been perfecting a unique form of progressive rock that incorporates complex polyrhythms and guitar dissonance. Operating within it's own unique idiom, Yowie rejects rock music's typical foundation of common time signature and standard melodic structures. This album marks a new level of ambition in terms of conceptual complexity, synthesizing opposing compositional approaches into a distinctive style that simultaneously elicits feelings of euphria, perplexity, dread... and an inexorable urge to dance.01.
