Q: Can it store a 17 inches laptop?. One with dimensions such as 16.7" x 11" x 0.88" would fit?
A: The maximum width it will hold is 16”. I have a 2010 17” (diagonal) MacBook Pro which BARELY fits. The dimensions of my laptop are... Height: 0.98 inch (2.50 cm); Width: 15.47 inches (39.3 cm); Depth: 10.51 inches (26.7 cm). Too bad it won’t work for you. It’s a terrific bag.
Q: How many laptops will this bag hold?
A: I am able to get my surface pro and iPad 9.7 stored in the same side compartment. With the main compartment I might be able to fit in my Lenovo laptop from work as well.
