Small and neat and works perfectly fine so far. Got it for my 6 year old to watch his shows.

Much easier to set up with my Yamaha receiver and can play all kind of CD’s with this. Excellent product at this price.

Good basic and practical DVD player, I also use it to listen to audiobooks. One of the nicest features is that, if I’m called away when it’s on Pause, it will shut off automatically after several minutes, so as not to burn out the motor. It’s very light, so it will sit on a shelf above or below your monitor/tv well. Instructions are easy to understand.

I had just received a box DVD movies for my house guests to enjoy during their stay over Christmas. The night before their arrival I popped in one of the movies & I was disturbed to learn these DvDs were made for “zero country zones” Huh? That’s Austrailia, I’m in the America.. My Sony DVD player/Burner needed its remote control in order to change “zone” and mine disappeared in my last move. My universals & Apps from Sony would not work either so I had to find a stand in at once. BestBuy had this ready for pickup in under 30 minutes and on Dec 23rd. Thinking for this low price, it could just last over the holidays I’d say I’d received my monies worth and that’s what I got. Hey it’s Jan 3rd and we’re still enjoying our new movies on our new stand-in DVD player.

It's pretty much what I needed. A low cost player that does the job.

DVD player was very easy to setup. It took only a few minutes for my daughter to connect it to the TV using the HDMI cord that I purchased with it. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I got this for an emergency and so far its been pretty good...not bad for the price eather.

I just recently came across lots of classic movies on DVD disc. Alas I had no DVD player who does.? Best Buy to the rescue Great product Great Price Overnight delivery. I am enjoying Pulp Fiction right now. Who needs Net Flix.

So I bought this on 9/1/19 it’s 9/26/19 this is the second time I use it and it’s already skipping or stops playing I just put 4 different dvd just to be sure it’s not that disk . Go with another brand this one is no good

We purchased this DVD player because we conduct classes at our business. Upon opening the box the player did not play a DVD. The disc tray repeatedly opened and closed on its own without stopping. Figuring we had a defective product we exchanged it for the exact same one. The replacement performed exactly the same way.

I needed a new DVD player for a living room that will only received occasional use, therefore was looking for the least expensive DVD player. Well, this one does meet my requirements with the added benefit of up-scaling with an HDMI cable connection. And at 33% off BB's normal price, I just could not pass this up. PROS: Inexpensive, upscaling with HDMI cable (not provided), inexpensive, small footprint, and a remote with many features. Output options includes HDMI, component, composite, and coaxial jacks. And includes a composite (L/R/Video) cable. CONS: If you setup this player with upscaling the output of a DVD (change default 480p setting to 720p or 1080i/p), then power the unit off, at the next power on it will default back to 480p. Although the remote has many buttons with all kinds of features, it is so small that it can be difficult to only select one of the tiny buttons. BOTTOM LINE: For the amount paid, coupled with the occasional use, it is a super deal, a real 5-Stars. But If you are looking for a primary player, one that you want up-scaling on without resetting at each power on, then this is an average 3-Star player. WOULD I RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND? Since there is no "Maybe", only "Yes" / "No" options, I selected "Yes" but with the caveat of explaining the up-scaling resetting requirement at every power on.

I purchased it to be utilized by the grandchildren. It is small, light, hooked up easily and is of acceptable quality though I am not very picky with such things. I mostly appreciate simplicity and ease of set up and use, which this product provided.

Bought as a replacement for my old bulky DVD player that was too quick to overheat at just halfway through the movie or a CD. This one is way much better and it doesn't take up much space. Cute, simple, very reasonably priced, but very useful if you still have plenty of old CD's and DVD's laying around. The reason why I took off one star is because the buttons on its remote control are a little too small for my preference.

This is a great player for DVDs! Connect it to TV easily, using HDMI! I am babying it, because they don't seem to be making DVD players anymore. I was thinking of taking away a star, because the remote is harder to figure out, than the DVD player, itself!

This Sylvania DVD player is obviously built with cost considerations in mind, it is small and very light in weight. However, it does have some good features not found on other DVD players of today. First, it has a HDMI connection so you can get the most from a home theater receiver if you connect through one for surround sound. It will pass DTS and Dolby Digital audio to a TV directly, or to a home theater or stereo receiver. Additionally, the HDMI allows easy connection to modern flat panel TVs. It has a decent "Jack Pack" allowing flexibility to connect to many other displays, such as an older HDTV or CRT non digital tv you may still own that has a composite or component input, or a computer monitor with a proper RGB input to converter cable. It also has a coax digital audio output to allow the separate audio and video connections. These features are no longer typical on DVD or Blu-ray players as they once were. In addition to features, it will also upconvert the standard DVD 480p output to up to 1080p to get the most resolution possible from a standard DVD on a HD panel. Note: this is NOT actual 1080p resolution, but 480 to 1080 conversion. You can't make more detail than the original source provides, however, it does make the 480p standard DVD movies look as good as they can get resolution wise (albeit interpolated) on a HDTV. In general, the picture quality is subjectively as good as from any other comparable DVD player, the picture ie sharp, the details are present, the color is accurate and true, not runny or smeared. Hi-Bit DVDs look very, very good on this player. It is not, however, up to the quality of a true Blu-ray DVD on a Blu-ray player. Note: This player will not play Blu-ray discs. Although built to cost, the unit is fairly quiet in operation, and should not interfere with the viewing experience. On the negative side, the remote is "rubbery" with lots of small buttons, the play/pause button is tiny and buried in a mass of other buttons in the central part of the remote face. The unit is very lightweight and small, and does not fit in a standard component 17.1 inch width format. The most annoying thing i that the up conversion must be reset after every play, else it will fall back to 480p. You may never notice this if your TV or home theater receiver also does a decent up conversion job, but it may not be as good as the player is able to deliver. You will have to experiment with this with your own setup. I think it does this to remain compatible with older 480p standard definition only sets, but I would like for the player to remember the setting once set in preferences by the owner, so you don't have to remember to set it every time you turn it on. I also really wish this had a digital readout on the front panel so I could use this as a stand alone deck for audio playback of CDs, so I could feed this directly into a stereo. It will still play CDs without the display, but if not connected to a display device, you may not be able to tell what track and time remain for the disc you are playing. The unit does display this info on a tv display however. Unfortunately, almost no current playback devices have a front panel display anymore, it's onscreen only it seems. For these listed deficiencies, I subtracted a star. This is really good for a person that has no need for a high featured movie playback system, or a child who does not cause the family a major loss if it is mishandled, it can easily be replaced (and the parent can address the mishandling, I would hope!) The picture quality is just fine for most normal viewing circumstances, and if you have a really high end viewing system, you probably would not be buying this anyway (but even if you did, it does a nice job of producing what is on the DVD). For its price to performance ratio, I could easily recommend this, if even only to have a back-up in case of your main system unit failure.

Works just fine. And the affordable price makes it worth while. We didn’t want anything fancy or complicated and this is all we needed. Sometimes too much technology is actually just too much.
