Takahiro Yoshikawa - Yoshikawa Plays Mozart - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Stephen Prutsman - Piano Concerto / Die Natali [COMPACT DISCS] date 10/22/2002

Takahiro Yoshikawa (piano) writes InchThis album features Chopin's works from 1836, 1841 and 1846. Born in 1810 and died at the age of 39, the Polish composer had already established his own style at the age of 26. He was at the height of his maturity at the age of 31 and reached at his later style at the age of 36. It took six years from 2015 to 2021 to record this album, which begins and ends with Nocturnes. It covers Chopin's style from his early years to his later years, and it can be said that this album describes my transition as a pianist, artist, and, if somewhat exaggerated, as a person throughout those six years.Inch

Vinyl LP pressing. Tears Run Rings is a long-distance relationship. In another life, these old friends were in the breezy, mid-90's indie pop combo The Autocollants, and founded the renowned indie tag Shelflife Records. Now, separated by the cities of Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, they collaborate through the magic of the internet. The band records in three separate studios, transferring tracks back and forth over the wires until they are perfect. In Surges, their third album, has been six years in the making. Over that time span, the band met up on several occasions to write, record, and mix the album together, in between starting families and recording separately. Full of rich guitars, haunting melodies, and layered, shimmering vocals, In Surges picks up where Distance left off.
