Tali Roth - Tango Sensations - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

My friend Clarice Assad called me out of the blue a few months after our album Confessions earned a GRAMMY® nomination. Clarice had written the title tracks on the album, which Laura Strickling sang magnificently. InchBob,Inch Clarice said, InchI have an idea...Inch I have learned that anytime Clarice has an idea, I'm interested. InchI wrote a piece for Takács Quartet and bandoneón virtuoso Julien Labro. It's a wild piece. The five of them have been performing it all over the world on tour, and I think you would like it. Actually, I know you would like it. Julien wrote a companion piece, and the third work is by Bryce Dessner. I think you know Bryce; he lives in Paris. What a trio!Inch I responded that it sounded wonderful. InchI want you to record these three works, plus another piece I have in mind for violin and piano. When can we do it?Inch Hence began one of Yarlung's most adventurous (and I hope you will agree, successful) collaborations in the tag's nineteen year history. -Bob Attiyeh, producer. Album Tracks 2. Pendulum Suite~Luminous 3. Meditation No. 1 7. Clash

Ondine is proud to these world premiere recordings of two new Zemlinsky arrangements by Richard Dünser with Lapland Chamber Orchestra conducted by John Storgårds. The works of Austrian composer Alexander Zemlinsky - much admired by composers such as Mahler, Schoenberg and Berg - have gained more attention during the last decades. He wrote only 27 works with an opus number, but several of them can be considered among 20th century masterpieces. In 2013 composer Richard Dünser, pupil of Francis Burt and Hans Werner Henze, made two new rich arrangements of works by Zemlinsky. Seven Songs of Night and Dream (Sieben Lieder von Nacht und Traum) is an orchestration of songs from opp. 2, 5, 6, 8 and 10 based on the themes of night and dream. In this recording the songs are sung by mezzo-soprano Jenny Carlstedt. Chamber Symphony is a 40-minute orchestration of Zemlinsky's String Quartet No. 2. In this orchestration the limitations of a string quartet is set free by using a larger ensemble. Zemlinsky's String Quartet contains references to the works of his most famous pupil, Arnold Schoenberg. Album Tracks 1. Der Traum - Jenny Carlstedt/Lapland Chamber Orchestra 2.
