About This Item

Two CD set containing a trio of albums by the country legend. In 1977 when the first of the three albums in this collection was released, Tammy Wynette had been recording for almost twelve years. 'One Of A Kind', that album's title track was to become her 40th chart success. It was a changing time in country music. Tammy, with her distinctive voice and heart-break songs, followed in the footsteps of Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. The doors were opening for female artists (hitherto mainly a male domain) and just six weeks after Tammy made her debut, Dolly Parton made her first chart appearance with 'Dumb Blonde' which she certainly wasn't! The second album InchWomanhoodInch was released in 1978. The title track was the first single taken from the album. It was penned by Bobby Braddock who had given the singer 'D-I-V-O-R-C-E' ten years earlier. The second single taken from the album 'I'd Like To See Jesus (On The Midnight Special)' relates to the famed DJ Wolfman Jack and the Midnight Special TV Show. InchJust TammyInch from 1979 contained two singles 'They Call It Making Love' and 'No-one Else In The World'. Tammy Wynette's name never vanished from the charts right up until her death on April, 6th 1998 at the tragically early age of 55. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame later that year. Album Tracks 1. One of a Kind 2. That's the Way It Could Have Been 3. Love Survived 4. That's Just the Way I Am 5. Sweet Music Man 6. What I Had with You 7. I'm Not That Good at Goodbye 8. Heaven's Just a Sin Away 9. I'll Be Your Bridge (Just Lay Me Down) 10. Dear Daughters 11. Womanhood 12. That's What Friends Are for 13. You Oughta Hear the Song 14. What's a Couple More 15. The One Song I Never Could Write 16. I'd Like to See Jesus (On the Midnight Special) 17. Mem'ries 18.
