About this product

The WS-11 windscreen is a microphone cover designed for use with compatible TASCAM DR-series handheld digital recorders, helping reduce wind interference during outdoor and on-location audio recording. Constructed with artificial fur, this windshield helps limit airflow reaching the built-in microphones while remaining acoustically transparent. It supports both XY and AB microphone configurations and fits over integrated mic capsules without additional mounting. Suitable for portable audio applications such as music recording, interviews, and field capture, this accessory functions as an alternative to foam or sponge microphone covers in environments with stronger wind conditions. Windscreen only; handheld recorder not included and not compatible with the DR-08.

Features

Windscreen Deadcat Microphone Cover for Recorders
This windscreen (deadcat / dead cat) microphone cover is designed to reduce wind interference on compatible TASCAM handheld digital recorders. The artificial fur windshield helps limit airflow reaching built-in microphones, supporting clearer audio capture for outdoor recording, interviews, and portable music applications.
Artificial Fur Windshield with Acoustic Transparency
Built with artificial fur, this microphone cover functions as a windshield that helps reduce wind noise while remaining acoustically transparent. Unlike basic foam or sponge microphone covers, it is designed for use in outdoor environments where stronger airflow may affect recording quality on portable audio devices.
Fits XY and AB Microphone Setups on Recorders
Designed for compatibility with XY and AB microphone configurations, this windscreen adapts to different mic layouts on supported handheld recorders. It works with internal microphones found on portable audio devices, allowing consistent use across multiple recording setups without requiring different screens or covers.
Compatible with Portable Digital Audio Recorders
Suitable for use with select TASCAM DR-series models, this accessory supports handheld and portable digital recorders used for music, field, and studio mic applications. It complements recording setups involving microphones, accessories, and external gear used in mobile or on-location audio capture.
Portable Microphone Insulation for Outdoor Recording
This compact windscreen acts as a layer of insulation between wind and microphones, helping reduce background noise during outside use. Ideal for handheld and portable recording scenarios such as live music, DJ sessions, and field audio capture. Windscreen only; recorder not included and not compatible with DR-08.
