Amazing for the price. This is a QLED VA panel, which means you will get amazing brightness with great contrast. It has Dolby Vision which supports two modes, Dolby vision bright and Dolby vision Dark. I recommend Dolby vision bright which takes movies to a while other level of clarity and brightness. The sound is standard for a flat screen TV, you will be better off with a Soundbar that is connected through the TV's ARC hdmi port. I only have two issues with this TV. One is that the Google UI can lag and feel a bit unresponsive or not fluid. The second is switching inputs to a game console. For some reason when you switch it the first time it automatically switches back to your last input or app. So you gots to switch the input again back to the console. So each time you wanna game, you have to switch inputs twice. For gaming it'll toggle Game Mode, which is only good for first person shooters or fighting games as this reduces input lag at the cost of a reduced image quality, meaning lesser brightness and color vibrancy. I recommend vivid then tweaking the picture settings to your liking to preserve some color and contrast.

So we were out shopping for a new TV. At the time we had a 52" Samsung Plasma TV from like the 1st Gen Smart TV World. Anyways, ran across this in an Open Box sale. Checked some reviews and didn't see anything too bad about it. Picked it up for $300 with taxes and I walked away with a QLED 4K Google TV. First impression, styling looks clean and not overdone. The adjustable feet are an awesome feature but I use a rotating stand mount. Picture quality is great from any angles, I've found nothing wrong with angle viewing. When you get 4k stream, its phenomenal. You can count hairs in a beard or see shimmering sparkles of sweat on a forehead. It may not be OLED but is it really that important to have other than gloating to people. Now the flaws, speakers themselves sound like POOP. Luckily I run everything through a 7.2 surround sound system and have no need for built-in speakers. The other let down is only 1 arcE HDMI point. Other than those 2 things, I've found nothing else (so far) to complain about. This is after 2 months of ownership.

Great TV for a great price! I was lucky enough to catch this TV on sale and I have no regrets. It’s my very first smart tv purchase and it even has voice control specifically adjusted to recognize your voice! Amazing quality!

Great tv for the price google tv is nicer than roku for the most part screen quality is really good for a this tv especially when its on sale for sub-$350 has good brightness but not comparable to a mini-led set which would be over $700 at least to get that feature overall a great tv for the bedroom

I will say this review is very dependent on the fact I got it for 200 dollars over the holidays. Great tv for the value, above average picture quality, android platform not so god

Pros: 1. Speaker and sound system is good. 2. Pre-installed apps have got the most used apps. 3. Setup process is smooth. I completed the setup by connecting the TV via google utility app and connecting the TCL tv and enterted the google credentials which made my life a bit easier. 4. I picked it up from Bestbuy - Temecula store which the process was smooth. No hassles. Cons: 1. Picture quality seems to be more bright/dynamic though I try to adjust in settings while watching YouTube.

Great picture on TV but is slow on slow switching from cable to streaming. Sound could be better. Also didn't recognize my password for Google nest and I'm still working on casting to TV using Chromecast. Didn't have these issues with my Roku. But only had 3 weeks. I like Google so hopefully when I learn everything I'll be more impressed.

This tv is good. Looks good. It is a bit thick. Im not a big fan of how the apps work on google tv. I prefer appletv system, which I use on my bedroom and living room tvs. This tv is in the guest room and i didnt want to buy another appletv just for guests so i devided to try this.

It is not perfect. By any means. But I Went from a 51 inch tv to a 55 inch tv. My old tv was a Samsung plasma tv from like 8 years ago. Great tv. But after my lady gave me a 85 inch Samsung I was like oh boy. I need to replace my other old tv. ( Which still works great Samsung plasma). I didn't wanted to spend much and I just got this tv for 230 with tax included. I got a better screen, bit bigger, Android included which is a plus( chromecast 4k is 40 bucks or 60) And Bluetooth. Super pleased. I saw the YouTube reviews but I was like I'm still gonna try it. For that price ??? Plus I heard good things about TCL. Hopefully later I'll get more money for another samsung 85 inch but for now this is awesome.

I bought this in January 2022 because the deal was too good to pass up I currently use a 65” Q7 and honestly, I think the picture and color accuracy on the 55” 5 series is a little bit better.

I got this TV last thanksgiving(2022) for $199 and has been a great bargain & going good. Really impressed with it. I just stay with Movie mode and vivid is even bright and colorful

Beautiful color and exceptional clarity. However, this google platform is beyond slow for nearly every app and the remote feels cheap.
As most reviews state, the OS is a bit buggish or laggy. I would have to agree. The QLED offers great colors but if you do not calibrate the settings for picture quality throughout all HDMI ports and apps, you might see some flaws right off the bat. Auto game mode does not work for me when playing my series x but if i select game mode as my picture, then most functions work such as VRR and dolby but i will constantly get "game mode turned on" and then "game mode turned off". I would rate this TV a 7/10 because it is a good TV for people who game and have a budget, however if TCL does not fix its OS with future updates then i may have to dump this and spend a bit more money on an OLED.

I’m truly enjoying my purchase. The picture is very bright and vibrant. I’ve had it for over a year now and I have not had any issues. I am very pleased with the picture quality and sound.

I'm reviewing this TV at the 199.99 price point we purchased it at. The picture is good, the blooming is bad. If you're allergic to blooming move on. The picture settings are hard to access in a way that allows fine tuning. Google TV is Google TV. Smart tvs are essentially weak computers with really big monitors. I reboot my excellent Sony X90j about every month to keep things running smoothly. I've been rebooting the TCL weekly or real slogs can happen. And when they happen it's difficult to even get to the setting to restart the unit and it just gets unplugged. (bad) Plan on using the apps on Google TV not simply casting from your phone. (hard habit to break!) Often when casting, after a few seconds the playback stops and we're asked to contact the apps owner. Don't do that, it's a waste of time. Just download the app. This TV replaced a very very old vizio base model so it's still an improvement for our very bright living room. Reflections are not an issue for us at all. I'm very happy with this TV even with the issues.

Excellent TV, watching movies on here is the best almost feels like I'm at the movie theater! The quality is great, the sound, and size I love it!

Only had the tv for a few days but so far so good. The picture quality is great for a QLED under $500. I read some reviews that complained about the brightness, especially when using HDR but so far it’s performed well. Other reviews have also said that the Google interface doesn’t perform well and has a lot of lag. When I initially turn the tv on there is some lag but after it on for just a few minutes there is very minimal lag. My biggest complaint is the position of the inputs. Both the a/v and the power cord inputs are both inputted horizontally and are far too close to the edge of the tv, maybe 4 or 5 inches at most. This means after you hook up 2 or 3 HDMIs and optical cable they stick out past the edge of the screen. Even after tethering them towards the center, they still stick out some. This is a major problem for me and might cause me to return it

This is a really nice tv picture! It set up easy enough and I bought a swivel stand for it to set on my tv console. It’s my first android tv so it took a couple days before I got proficient in having it jump around the inputs and learning how to use voice control. I learned today that voice control also worked to switch automatically to my antenna input for nbc broadcast station. It’s a bright picture on startup and I needed to backdown the brightness and contrast to my preference. Audio is loud enough but I like using a sound bar for output. There’s an Ethernet port in addition to wifi (5 and 2.4 band) but I use Ethernet to save wifi bandwidth traffic for my other wifi smart tvs or google tv dinked tvs. I wish it had Bluetooth but the sound bar supports blue tooth so I’m covered. I have a Sirius xm subscription and also was able to port my Netflix acct to the tv. Again it’s a nice tv above the entry level smart tv as it has about 40 screen zone dimmers to enhance picture differentiation in low light/dark movie scenes

The two stars are for the picture quality and the design which is impressive. Otherwise, this has been really bad experience for me with a smart TV. I was pretty exited when it arrived. But now i am totally bummed with the TV. I assume the issue is with Google OS with TCL. I just got it delivered yesterday and I started seeing issues the same night after I set it up. I am okay with software being little lagy. I understand it's a new platform. But the App crashes or the screen freezes after I play a content on the HBOmax, Hulu. Netflix crashed couple of times. In a days time I had to reset the system 4 times. Reinstall the apps multiple times, Plug out and power on the TV to get it running as the TV became unresponsive after the screen froze. These are major issues which should have been handled before marketing the product . What's the point of calling it a smart TV, if you can't take proper advantage of it. Now, it's making me think may be I made wrong choice. It is annoying when your TV doesn't work as it is supposed to work. Not sure if these issues would be fixed any time sooner or I should hold on to this TV at the first place.
