Teddy & the Rough Riders - Tomahawk / Thunderhead - CD5 MAXI-SINGLE

On the heels of being named Ameripolitan Awards' 2024 Honky Tonk Group of the year and a tour across the US and EU with Emily Nenni- Teddy and the Rough Riders return with 'Down Home'- a smokin' follow up to their Margo Price produced, eponymous 2022 album. On top of their foundational country roots, T&RR's meld genre defying elements that elevate their sound beyond your standard ranch stash- with extraterrestrial guitar from Sean's Weird Ears and backing vocals from Nashville favorites, Emily Nenni and Erin Rae.

Luckily for us, Teddy and the Rough Riders have been burning up the Nashville underground over the past few years. With roots deep in psychedelia, the group stripped back all the trimmings to a Velvets rhythm section and steeped it in a Music Row dive bar for their own brand of country rock that is poppy, precise, well-educated and completely self-aware. What, then, would be the point of an exaggerated drawl or a convenient new interest in roping cattle? The Teddys' sound is country that, somewhat paradoxically, lives and breathes in the city. So, it is fitting that their A-side single 'I Found Somethin' throws down a strong psych card, with bassist Ryan Jennings' vocals leading us through a vibrant and playfully painted scene filled with a can of worms, desk drugs and big wet dogs. The second track 'Neon Cowboy', guided this time by guitarist Jack Quiggins, dives down a rabbit hole of self-reflection and social questioning, with Luke Schneider's atmospheric pedal steel and Nick Swafford's always-tasteful drums giving it real backbone. For fans of The Byrds, Link Wray and CCR. This one's not to be missed. For fans of The Byrds, Link Wray and CCR. This one's not to be missed.

On the heels of their epic tour opening for alt-country artist, Orville Peck, Teddy and the Rough Riders their debut studio album, produced by independent country artist, Margo Price. Blending elements of Flying Burrito Bros, Dave Edmunds/Rockpile and The Band, Nashville natives, T&RR, have woven their way into the hearts of Music City's independent music scene.01 Go Lucky Kind, 02 Broken Bridges, 03 Dance Floor Blues, 04 Livin in the Woods, 05 Rhinestone Salute, 06 Drink Better, 07 Sunset, 08 Leaving Forever Again, 09 Complacency, 10 Bad Spot, 11 Cat and Mouse, 12 Hey Richard
