About this product

The world may seem like a pretty strange place right now, but if nothing else that's forced us into realizing that being human is a shared experience. That sentiment lies at the core of Earth Is A Black Hole, the second full-length from the Los Angeles rock act Teenage Wrist. The album also marks the group's first since the departure of former bassist/vocalist Kamtin Mohager last year and sees the duo of guitarist Marshall Gallagher stepping up as frontman, with longtime drummer Anthony Salazar backing him up in spectacular fashion. InchAs soon as we found out Kam was exiting, I just started writing,Inch Gallagher explains. InchI wanted to keep this band going and we didn't know exactly what that would look like, so I wrote two songs and demoed them myself to see if everyone was still on board.Inch Those songs turned out to be the jangly power ballad InchYellowbellyInch and spacey rocker InchWear U DownInch-and with that, a new era of Teenage Wrist was born. The artistic liberation of this lineup change, coupled with the past two years the band spent touring alongside genre-smashing acts such as Thrice, allowed Teenage Wrist to expand on the shoegazing sound that helped establish them as one of the most exciting rock bands around today. In order to capture this sound, the band enlisted Colin Brittain (Basement, A Day to Remember), whose production style merged perfectly with what Teenage Wrist were trying to accomplish with this album. From rich, guitar-driven songs like InchTaste Of GasolineInch and InchHigh AgainInch to the atmospheric ambience of InchStellaInch and syncopated aggression of InchEarth Is A Black Hole,Inch any of these songs could crossover into the mainstream without alienating Teenage Wrist's fervent fanbase. While they are still influenced by bands like Swervedriver and My Bloody Valentine-most evidently on the swirling anthem InchSilverspoon,Inch

Mammoth - Mammoth - VINYL LP

MAMMOTH is a grabber right out of the gate, every step they take is unleashed with deadly economical precision. They may flash on Lynyrd Skynyrd and other vintage southern rock traditions but the brilliant way the vocals are recorded and the to-the-point interlocking guitar moves will fire up anybody into any sort of hard rock. They can rip it up with hot leads, probably jammed out on these songs at live shows but lucky us, they laid them down for all times here with the sort of thought out unified force and construction that screams hit radio. Loads of personality, accessible, produced and mixed with the clarity of classic rock that never loses it's perfectly deployed impact. The uncluttered arrangements leave plenty of space, crafted with the kind of balanced mojo in the mix where every detail adds to the whole. Down and dirty but also achieving a universal pop-friendly appeal! The Mammoth LP was recorded in 1981 at Relayer Studios in DeLand, Florida with the two guitars, bass and drums quartet line-up sounding like it could have been a decade earlier. Buzz Fetters on lead guitar, Bill Abell on rhythm guitar, Joey Costa on bass and Ron Herman on drums... with everybody contributing to the vocals. Rather than having a strong up front emotive singer the lead vocals here are multi-tracked and integrated into the songs with plenty of attitude but also a genre-transcending presence... you can imagine the vocal ambience working in punk, glam, even psychedelic contexts. Mammoth have a sound informed by roots music but it is really in the rear-view mirror the way they roll. The songwriting here is terrific, they have a way of saying things that comes off as sincere but not too serious. You get plenty of in-your-face hard rock action but also several melodic tracks that have a more reflective charm to round out the trip. AND... when you hear their brilliant ode to southern r

Teenage Wrist - Chrome Neon Jesus - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Fans of alt-rock music rejoice because Teenage Wrist are here to remind you why distorted guitars, dreamy vocals and massive dynamics never go out of style. The band - Kamtin Mohager (bass, vocals), Marshall Gallagher (guitar, vocals) and Anthony Salazar (drums) - formed in 2015 and instantly made a name for themselves with their debut EP, Dazed. The Los Angeles band's full-length debut Chrome Neon Je-sus is a timeless collection of music from a group of music veterans who have unequivocally dedicated themselves to their craft and evoke everyone from The Smashing Pumpkins to Sense Field in the process. The result is an album that's inspired by the alternative heroes of the past yet retains a modern edge and is teeming with choruses so big that they stretch toward the stratosphere.

Teenage Wrist - Still Love - VINYL LP

Over the past eight years Teenage Wrist have continually evolved their sound, a process that's peaking with their third full-length, Still Love. Reaching new heights in both scope and execution, the album sees the duo-Marshall Gallagher (vocalist, guitarist, bassist) and Anthony Salazar (drums, vocalist, percussion)-producing the album themselves to handcraft their most expansive collection of songs to date from the ground up. The result is a self-realized collection of songs that saw the band borrowing vintage gear, bringing in friends in the form of members from 311 vocalist/turntablist Doug InchSAInch Martinez and Softcult and incorporating tasteful pop sensibilities to craft a collection of songs that redefines the band's sound while staying true to their guitar-driven roots. From the atmospheric, fuzzed out opener InchSunshineInch (which Gallagher says is Inchthe coolest riff he's ever writtenInch) to the midtempo rocker InchDark Sky' (the latter of which features the aforementioned cameo from 311 vocalist/turntablist Doug InchSAInch Martinez), the album will undoubtedly please fans who favor distorted guitars and crunchy chords. However, that's only one aspect of the album and Teenage Wrist aren't ashamed to admit that there's a strong pop sensibility on the album that shows how much they've grown as songwriters since 2021's Earth is a Black Hole. From the brain-invading ballad InchSomething GoodInch to the downbeat electronic vibe of InchDiorama,Inch the album is teeming with unexpected moments that are reminiscent of Radiohead's flair for experimentation. The powerful bond between these two collaborators lies at the core of Teenage Wrist's music and, more than any other factor, that's evident on every moment of Still Love. InchThere was a certain feeling that music gave me as a kid and this is honestly the first time on any record I feel like we kind of came c
