Death metal can hardly get more dedicated and passionate about the old school Floridian sound than TEMPLE OF DREAD on their fifth album InchGod of the GodlessInch. Luckily, the East Frisians from German island Spiekeroog are not mired in a swamp of stale nostalgia. Although InchGod of the GodlessInch comes with the brutal power of harsh winter storms and the gritty texture of the often fierce North Sea weather, the East Frisians have also refined the cinematic aspects of their sound that they had firmly established on the predecessor InchBeyond AcheronInch (2023). Building on their brutal death metal base, TEMPLE OF DREAD also work with dark and heavy parts as well as a surprising dash of melancholia - and even some knife-tips of black metal spice. There is even a return of a guest-contribution by former MORGOTH, INSIDIOUS DISEASE, and ASINHELL vocalist Marc Grewe. The massive production of InchGod of the GodlessInch comes courtesy of drummer Jörg Uken, who owns and runs the renowned death metal smithy Soundlodge Tonstudio, in which leading acts of the scene such as DEW-SCENTED, GOD DETHRONED, OBSCENITY, SUICIDAL ANGELS, and WARPATH among many others have also recorded albums. TEMPLE OF DREAD came into being on Spiekeroog in 2017 when guitarist Markus Bünnemeyer decided to materialise his craving for old school death metal. In 2018, he was joined by singer Jens Finger and drummer Jörg Uken, with both of whom Bünnemeyer was also active in SLAUGHTERDAY. The three-piece has maintained a stable line-up ever since. The north German Death Metal Band Temple of Dread was spawn in 2017 by guitarist/bassist Markus Bönnemeyer and his school friend Frank Albers (lyrics). It contains eight new brain-drilling and head-splitting songs as well as a cover version of the Morgoth classic 'Sold Baptism'. After the previous albums InchBlood Craving MantrasInch and InchWorld SacrificeInch, which were acclaimed by critics and fans, Temple of Dread complete their opening triple with the new hateful chunk InchHades UnleashedInch. The album was released with nine brand-new songs on July 23rd 2021 via Testimony Records. The band's third album was of course recorded and produced once again by the band's drummer Jörg Uken in his Soundlodge Studio in Rhauderfehn, Germany. InchDespite the two extremely strong previous albums, we managed to pack a few more bits on top! 'Hades Unleashed' definitely contains our strongest material so farInch, says Markus Bönnemeyer, guitarist of the North German Death Metallers. InchThe album keeps what our name promises - even if we experiment more within the genre boundaries than on the previous albums. We have written the fastest songs of our career so far and slowed down the pace significantly on some of the other songs.
