About this product
After five years of gestation Thætas return with an auditory statement for their moment in time, the new album The Irredeemable Age on Profound Lore Records. The Irredeemable Age shows the band both refining and intensifying the brutal death metal approach from their debut album, Shrines to Absurdity, while deepening their explorations into the bizarre, the uncharted and even the avant-garde. The result is a dynamic mosaic of obsessively dark, organic, off-kilter and kinetic death metal. The four-piece band hail from the New York region, consisting of drummer Nick Crifo, guitarists Terrell Grannum (Reeking Aura, Buckshot Facelift, Squelching Flesh) & Pat Hawkins (Asystole, Needlepusher, Kyrios, Aberrated) and vocalist / bassist Cory Peterson (37564 Recordings). The album was tracked independently then mixed and mastered by the inimitable Colin Marston.

Death Age maintains the armed to the teeth savage militancy of earlier material from LA's Kommand, now taken even further into enemy territory with more grisly wartorn brutality than ever. Like the coordinated bombardment of an entire continent, Death Age is an air raid siren for imminent cataclysm. The ominous atmosphere on Death Age heralds the single-minded concentrated objective; to batter, demolish and destroy with no quarter given. Death metal of this kind taps into the most primitive, untamed instincts, advancing like a convoy of tanks through occupied territory, heedless of whatever or whoever stands in it's path. From opener InchFinal VirusInch to closer InchCollapse Metropolis,Inch Kommand's vision of a dystopian hellscape, cities permanently scarred by heavy weaponry, and those unfortunates who survived the onslaught never relents or offers respite. Death Age thus renders a terminal epitaph on the bloody trash heap of near-future history. Album Tracks 1. 1. Final Virus 2. 2. Chimera Soldiers 3. 3. Global Death 4. 4. Polar Holdout 5. 5.
