I really wanted to like this game as I gave it a chance when I bought it but, for next-gen games, standards no doubt are raised for quality of games and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on next-gen is the best version available but that's not saying much. As of this review, the game is $60. I bought it and sold it to a friend a week after because I grew tired of it quickly. While not horrible looking, for PS4 it's pretty lackluster. The city is barren, the people look soulless, and bugs galore. Peter Parker does not look even remotely like Andrew Garfield and his voice feels really off-putting. By that I mean it's not his voice either. Probably just some Joe-Schmoe. I guess Garfield's voice/likeness was too expensive? Also the cutscenes and story, are laughable in their execution because you can tell the game did not have a long development time as occasionally cutscenes are done with concept art or storyboards. Animations of the character models are wonky and the game overall is just okay. It's a price dropper for sure. The best thing about the game is that the swinging is the best it's been in years but even for something like that, you're better off on waiting for it to drop. So either wait for the PS4 or Xbox One version to drop in price or buy it for PS3 and 360 and save $10 if you NEED to play it right now. Otherwise, just wait. Don't make my mistake.

Visually the game looks great, the story was good. The games controls where fair at times but over all good. I would buy it again it was a very fun game.

If you've played an open-world Spider-man game within the past few years, you'll know what you're getting with the Amazing Spider-man 2. The web slinging is better than ever, you'll meet (and fight) well-known characters, and there are numerous collectibles to find. But, as with recent games, you'll also find side missions that get repetitive (this time with a hero/menace meter meant to serve as some sort of paradigm system that is more nuisance than inventive), combat that is inherently fun but used uninspiring in its implementation, and a story that doesn't make a whole lot of sense as it touches upon similar story beats from the movie while also trying to add additional characters. In the end if you've had fun with recent Spider-man games or you've never tried one but love Spider-man, I say pick it up. You'll have fun but just realize it's not to the caliber of other games in the genre like Infamous or Arkham City.

Good game. I actually enjoyed the story in the first Amazing Spiderman a little better than this one. That's not to say it was bad...just not as exciting for me. Gameplay was similar to the first one. Overall, it's fun to play.

Not a bad game for the sale price. I like how the controls feel on this game. It seems easier to control Spiderman as you rope thru the city looking for things to do... ADD IT TO YOUR COLLECTION TODAY

If you ever wanted to be Spider-man and swing all across New York, then this is the game for you. It is really fun being able to swing all over the place, climb walls and fight as your friendly neighborhood Spider-man. my only real problem with this game is that the camera following you doesn't always go where you want or expect it to, making it difficult to land or swing where you want. It's a fun game, go play it.

As a Spider-Man fan, I got this game to enjoy some web slinging fun. Once in the game I found it repetitive very quickly. There are multiple classic characters in there, along with the two villains from the Amazing Spider-Man movie. I found this game to be fairly easy, even on the hardest setting.. This would be a good game for a child.

So in all, I only attempted the story mode of this game. The best part is by far the ability to web-sling around the city. I would recommend that anyone who's a fan of Spider-Man, plays this game. If, however, you're a regular gamer, you may not find this game very appealing. The fight sequences are almost identical to any Arkham game on the market and the story is so jam packed with characters, there's no time for development. The game is also fairly short (2 days without side missions.) The pace makes the game easy and fun if you just want to see the multitude of villains and don't care too much about building a good Spiderman story. The graphics are pretty on point so I've got nothing negative to say there. All in all it has good aspects and some mediocre aspects but there's nothing about his game that's aweful.

This game is not perfect, but if you are looking to experience what it would be like to be the web slinger as a casual gamer, this will not disappoint. The graphics and story are ok and sometimes it's just fun to roam around Manhattan from the rooftops.

An OK game. Not great by any stretch but above average for movie based games. Spiderman fans probably will like it (worth 1-2 stars additional). Got tired of spidermans unfunny one liners pretty quickly.

Plenty to do and good storeline! If you're a fan of the Arkham series of Batman then this Amazing Spider-Man is not as dark but loads of fun!

Good graphics and gameplay all around. Web slinging was the most accurate out of all the Spider-Man games I have played. Predictable storyline as expected. Would definitely recommend to others.

I love the gameplay mechanics, the way that they designed the game since the originals years ago. I love playing this with my kids they have a blast and love the Marvel universe of characters

Updated graphics, a little more of the same, but still a solid game for non-hardcore gamers. Like previous versions, there are things to collect and an advancement system.

Good game as I said takes way to much time to load feels like if I play for an hour 20 minutes is loading time but other wise feels a lot like the other spiderman games

Game is definitely an improvement on the last one but spider-man 2 from PS2 still is better. Still some flaws but otherwise it was fun to play.

Feels like an upgraded version of previous iterations. Can get a little repetitive.

Not the best spider-man game but still is a lot of fun to play. If you can find it on sale definitely pick this up.

I got the first one and wanted to get the second game. I like it; the game is fun and the graphics are great.
