About This Item

The Amazing Transparent Man is a 1960 sci-fi thriller starring Marguerite Chapman and Douglas Kennedy. Former U. S. Army major, Paul Krenner (James Griffith) plans to conquer the world with an army of invisible soldiers and will do anything to achieve that goal. With the help of his hired thug Julian (Boyd 'Red' Morgan), Krenner forces Dr. Peter Ulof (Ivan Triesault) to perfect the invisibility machine that Ulof invented. He imprisons Ulof's daughter Maria (Camel Daniel) to ensure Ulof's compliance. The nuclear materials needed for the invisibility machine are extremely rare and kept under guard in government facilities. Krenner arranges a prison break of notorious safecracker Joey Faust (Douglas Kennedy). Faust will steal the materials needed while he is invisible. Faust has reservations about working for Krenner and threatens to inform on Krenner if he is returned to prison. Faust reluctantly complies, however, when he meets Krenner's female accomplice, Laura Matson (Marguerite Chapman), he slowly charms her into a double cross. The invisibility experiment with Faust has not quite succeeded as Faust turns from invisible to visible and back again. Dr. Ulof reveals that he and Faust are dying from radiation poisoning as a side effect of the invisibility machine. Meanwhile, Faust and Krenner get into a fight in the lab when something awful happens. Watch this terrific sci-fi classic as the ending is a great surprise! (57 minutes - 1960 - Black & White - 16 9)
