About this product

Opaque Tan. Green to Gold is the much anticipated new album from New York based, Indie/Folk band, The Antlers. Perhaps what distinguishes Green to Gold from the rest of The Antlers' canon is it's, well, sunniness. Conceived and written almost entirely in themorning hours, Green to Gold is the band's first new music in nearly seven years, and easily their most luminous to date.InchI think this is the first album I've made thathas no eeriness in it,Inch singer and primary songwriter Peter Silberman asserts. InchI setout to make Sunday morning music.InchThe brighter outlook emerged, paradoxically, after a succession of ominous events. In 2015, Silberman suffered with an auditory condition that made touring near impossible and he retreated to the quiet of Upstate New York to heal. His return in 2017 with a solo album was short lived when he was diagnosed with lesions on his vocal chords, which required surgery and again a quiet rest and recovery period. Silberman explains. InchI took these health obstacles as a sign that I should changecourse for a little while. I hadn't made a full stop like that since The Antlers began.InchBut he still felt the strong pull to spend time and work with longtime drummer Michael Lerner, and frequently invited him up to visit the idyllic hamlet he now called home. The two friends' days typically involved long walks in the woods, but routinely ended up in Silberman's converted-garage studio. InchI would record him playing drums in the studio while he listened to old soul and R&B songs in headphones... and those drum recordings ultimately served as starting points for thesongs that followed. At the time, we were merely attempting to make music together again, without really knowing how to approach it, or to what end.InchInchI think the shift in tone is the result of getting older. It doesn't make sense for me to try to tap into the same energy

The Pink Mountaintops - Axis of Evol - VINYL LP

Pink Mountaintops is Stephen McBean, who's been in numerous groups over the last two decades; a straight out Punk outfit, a crusty Punk/Metal Band, and most recently, a Psych-tinged maximal Rock group whose self titled debut, InchBlack MountainInch, captured a great amount of critical acclaim (and meteorically became Jagjaguwar's best selling title). with InchAxis of EvolInch, McBean has once again created something much greater than the sum of his influences. The record almost immediately ramps up into a thumping, buzzing, blissful haze, at various parts sounding like the Velvet Underground or Spacemen 3 or the Jesus And Mary Chain, circa InchPsycho CandyInch. at the end, the album segues into a hypnotic, Smog like meditation. Throughout, McBean sings about love and war, the love of war and the war of love; on the body, on the mind, and on the soul. Experience the record, then think about it in more than one way.

Schneider / Yan - Magic of Irreality - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Visions and illusions, dreams and hallucinations were the inspiration for Enjott Schneider's surreal sound images the current recording collects two double concertos by the Munich composer, both of which use unconventional combinations of solo instruments to make poetic contradictions audible. In InchIsolde & TristanInch (2014), Erhu virtuoso Jiemin Yan as a fairy tale princess and cellist Wen-Sinn Yang as her hero and counterpart Richard Wagner interact in a far Eastern context. The fluid Asian timbre of the traditional Chinese instrument merges with the chromaticism of Late-Romantic Western music; original quotations from Wagner meet slow waltzes and Irish diatonic melodies. InchDreamdancersInch (2016) explores the surreal worlds of the night. Sergei Nakariakov on Flugelhorn and Otto Sauter on Piccolo Trumpet play together in a collage-like manner characterized by leaps in time and superimposed tempos. They combine spectacular staccato technique with dizzying high notes to create a weightless dream full of feeling and beyond all reason.
