The Ballad of Davy Crockett - DVD

A U.S. military scout is assigned to stop Indian attacks on a defenseless group of wagon trains making their way West.

In the late 1990s, maverick L.A. cop Sgt. John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and crazed super-criminal Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) are put in suspended animation by the state, but when Phoenix is revived and escapes into the non-violent, politically correct society of 2032, the authorities have to thaw out Spartan in order to stop his old nemesis. Sandra Bullock, Nigel Hawthorne, and Denis Leary co-star in this witty sci-fi actioner. 115 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks; English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, Dolby Atmos; Subtitles English (SDH); audio commentary; interviews; visual essay; theatrical trailer; image gallery.

John Wayne's frontier epic about the siege that minted legends. The film admires persistence as Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and William Travis hold the line at the Alamo while a new nation imagines itself into being. Sweeping and unabashedly earnest. 154 mins. Audio English. Widescreen. Region Free. (Original 1960).
