The Besnard Lakes - The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night - VINYL LP

Rich with Beach Boys style harmonies, Roy Orbison reverbs and orchestra, Pink Floyd's pacing and Freddie Mercury's falsetto, the second record by Montreal's Besnard Lakes is a luxurious foray into sound and music. They're masters of finely-honed experimental pop songs that invoke the eerie Lynchian setting as aided and abetted by the music of Julee Cruise, but on this record, the band throws into the mix a mad dash of Fleetwood Mac proportioned swagger and ambition. Album Tracks 1. Disaster 2. For Agent 13 3. And You Lied to Me 4. Devastation 5. Because Tonight 6. Rides the Rails 7. On Bedford and Grand 8. Cedric's War

Listening to music is always a journey for the listener - but with the Ensemble Cicerone's new GENUIN album, the composers were already adventurers - people who, in the Baroque era, took to the dangerous roads on land and water all over Europe and ensured that musical styles met and mixed. The musicians of the ensemble, which bears in it's name the great travel guidebooks, teach at the Mozarteum and at the Cologne University of Music they let the intricate paths of emotions arise before our inner ears in the wonderful music of Handel, Muffat, Telemann, and others and thus cast a spell on us. Better than Baedeker! For the Cicerone Ensemble, just playing music is not enough. Listening to historical music is only part of the experience the three young musicians set out to provide. Their goal is to showcase music and bring it to life like a tourist guide would an old painting or an ancient building, hence the name InchCiceroneInch (in Italian- InchGuideInch). Album Tracks 1. Vinyl LP pressing. With Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO, The Besnard Lakes create a distinct and dreamy headspace, an enigmatic and somehow familiar placelessness.
