About this product

Double vinyl LP pressing in gatefold sleeve including art insert and digital download. Digitally remastered edition. 1994's Sprawl, originally released on Woronzow, features Nick with Jimmy Hastings (flute), Tony Aldridge (violin) and Andy Ward on drums. Vocals here were provided by Ade Shaw, Dean Carter and Mick Donovan along with Current 93's David Tibet guesting with spoken word on the spiritual 'Right On (hippy dream)'. Hypnotic 12 minute psych piece 'Awake' is interspersed with instrumentals and the grungy guitars of 'The Puller' are offset by Aldridge's strings. The tenth studio album in less than a decade since and Sprawl - once again - demonstrates Nick's immeasurable songwriting power. The Bevis Frond is a British group whose range covers hard edge to melancholy vintage indie rock to poetic, classic-rock songcraft. Nick Saloman is the band's frontman and songwriter. They have recorded many singles and albums on various independent labels. Album Tracks 1. I Know We're Going 2. Awake! 3. Innerwheel 4. 41 Years 5. Love You More 6. The Puller 7. Oh Gideon 8. 74/Ginghamrag 1. Right on (Hippie Dream) 2. Remember Me 3. Boa Constrictor 4. I Bought My Love a Lapdog 5. Madrigal 6. New Alexandria 7. Anodyne/See You 8. See You

The Bevis Frond - Triptych - VINYL LP

The heavy third offering from Nick Saloman bursts with 60s-psych and includes epic track InchTangerine Infringement BeakInch clocking in at nearly 20 minutes, 'Into The Cryptic Mist' and 'Lights Are Changing' a song that went on to be covered by Mary Lou Lord.A labor of love and fiercely independent, his prolific output has seen as many releases in as many years and an uncompromising vision under his own tag Woronzow. Hailed as Incha Hendrix devotee every bit as tough and contemporary as the serrated guitar chorales of Sonic Youth and PixiesInch by Rolling Stone's David Fricke, his immense psych-stoner-rock has seen him become a cult figure in his own right. The Bevis Frond's legion of loyal fans includes Teenage Fanclub, Dinosaur Jr and Mary Lou Lord, who have all covered his music. Album Tracks 1. Into the Cryptic Mist 2. Debbie's New Song for Drums 3. The Bevis Frond - Superseeder - VINYL LP

Double vinyl LP pressing in single sleeve with printed inners and digital download. Digitally remastered edition. Released on Nick Saloman's tag Woronzow in 1995, The Bevis Frond's Superseeder arrived after Sprawl. At this point, Nick began releasing albums annually compared with his earlier recordings that would see multiple releases per year. Soaring and melodic rock workouts prevail with a notably strong rhythm section making this record another favorite. Eastern tinged opener 'Superseded', 'I Can't Cry' and 17-minute 'House Of Mountains' are exemplary workouts whilst the garage-punk of 'Dolly Bug' takes a different tone as do 'Golden Walks Of London' and 'Queen Of May' which have more traditional British influences. Playing many instruments on the record, Nick continues here to work with his live band with Andy Ward on the drums, Adrian Shaw on bass and guest second guitarist Bari Watts returns (tracks 6 & 12). The Bevis Frond is a British group whose range covers hard edge to melancholy vintage indie rock to poetic, classic-rock songcraft. Nick Saloman is the band's frontman and songwriter. They have recorded many singles and albums on various independent labels. Album Tracks 1. Superseded 2. Dolly Bug 3. Stoned Train Driver 4. Animal Tracks 5. Jaye 6. I Can't Cry 7. Flashy 1. Golden Walks of London 2. House of Mountains 3. The Queen of May 4. Sue Me 5. Loveland 6. Could You Fly Higher?

The Bevis Frond - It Just Is - VINYL LP

Double vinyl LP pressing in single sleeve with printed inners and digital download. Digitally remastered edition. Released in 1993 the Album is dedicated to Ollie Halsall, one of Nick's favorite guitarists, who passed away during the recording of the album. Check his work on the Patto albums... It Just Is was recorded at Goldust, but without any outside help and released back on Nick's own tag, Woronzow. After the plethora of guests on the last couple of albums, this was more a return to the recording style of the early days with Nick playing everything - possibly as a reaction to the Reckless Debacle. A bit more introspective and dour maybe, but with some great tracks - the psych-pop of Dreamboat Sinking, the observation of, er, desperation that is the excellent Desperate and the great grunge rocker Can't Stop Lying are the ones that really stand-out here, although the rest of the album is brilliant too, and really bears repeated listening, as the songs are perhaps not as immediately approachable as on the previous couple of albums. As usual, the songwriting is beautifully crafted, the lyrics poignant and intelligent. Thankfully the refrain that closes the album, InchAnd Then We Die!Inch, didn't come to pass, and Nick lives on to record many more albums! Album Tracks 1. Can't Stop Lying 2. Time-Share Heart 3. Idiot Dance 4. What It's All About 5. Day One 6. Let Me Live 7. Terrible Day 1. Dreamboat Sinking 2. A Sorry Tale 3. Human Overload 4. I Can't Catch Up with You 5. Hit the Lights 6. Everyday Sunshine 7. Not for Now 8. All Gone 9. Time Piece 10. And Then?
