About this product
A classically told monster movie directed by Vernon Sewell (The Crimson Cult, Burke & Hare), The Blood Beast Terror is set in motion when mutilated bodies begin appearing in the English countryside, drained of blood. Horror icon Peter Cushing (The Flesh and the Fiends, House of the Long Shadows) stars as Detective Inspector Quennell, brought in to investigate the deaths. He consults entomology professor Mallinger (Robert Flemyng, The Horrible Dr. Hichcock), but the doctor seems to be hiding a dark secret about his fetching young daughter, Clare (Wanda Ventham, Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter). The deeper Quennell digs into their story, the bloodier the violence, until he discovers a terrifying truth about Mallinger's experiments that is only revealed in the gruesome final reel. Hearkening back to the classics of Universal Pictures, The Blood Beast Terror offers terrific performances and special effects, and slowly builds to it's skin-crawling climax.

The Blood Beast Terror is a British horror film. In 19th century England a series of grisly murders are being committed on good-looking young men between the ages of twenty and thirty, and all have had their throats torn open and their blood drained from them. A coachman, Joe Trigger (Leslie Anderson) is driven insane when he catches a glimpse of the mysterious killer. Investigating the deaths are Detective Inspector Quennell (Peter Cushing) of Scotland Yard and his assistant Sergeant Allan (Glynn Edwards). Joe Trigger, the coachman, keeps ranting about a horrible winged creature with huge eyes. Quennell hatches a theory that perhaps a homicidal eagle is on the loose. At the scene of the latest killing some shiny scales are discovered. Inspector Quennell takes the shiny scales to professor Dr. Carl Mallinger (Robert Flemying), but the professor behaves suspiciously and dismisses Quennell's theory outright. In the meantime, explorer and naturalist Frederick Britewell (William Wilde) returns from Africa with some moth chrysalids for Dr. Mallinger, and the young, handsome adventurer is soon to become the victim of the real murderer. The hunt continues for the murderer of these young men until the truth is borne out. This is a great horror thriller which will leave you guessing until the very end!

This Spanish shocker was the first of several films starring Euro-horror icon Paul Naschy as angst-ridden lycanthrope Waldemar Daninski (who, to explain the film's American title, is said to be a descendant of the Frankensteins). Naschy seeks a cure from an occult shop's owners, unaware that the couple are vampires seeking his destruction. With Julián Ugarte, Rosanna Yanni.
