Together with familiar music from Prince Igor, this album features the world premiere recording of the unusual Requiem, (which is based on InchChopsticksInch), and Glazunov's orchestration of the charming Petite Suite. Australian conductor Geoffrey Simon is resident in London and has appeared there with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players and English Chamber Orchestra. The Philharmonia Orchestra is a British orchestra based in London. It was founded in 1945 by Walter Legge, a classical music record producer for EMI. Among the conductors who worked with the orchestra in it's early years were Richard Strauss, Wilhelm Furtwängler and Arturo Toscanini; of the Philharmonia's younger conductors, the most important to it's development was Herbert von Karajan, who though never formally chief conductor was closely associated with the orchestra in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The Philharmonia became widely regarded as the finest of London's five symphony orchestras in it's first two decades.

The new single 'Gold' opens with the gritty, fervent soul of AJ Dean-Revington's vocals, before the band's patented harmonies surge to the fore, while thunderous drums and a euphoric hook escalate the song's drama. It offers a timely reminder that challenging experiences will in time fade in favour of a better future.Gold stemmed from the idea of something being more beautiful having been broken. We had chatted about the Japanese art form Kinsugi or Kinstsukuroi and how things are mended with lacquer mixed with gold, and this was the perfect imagery for what we were writing about. Our scars are a visual representation of our struggles and our stories of loss are stories of survival. At the start of 2020 when we were in Woodstock finishing the album with Simone and David, we could not have imagined how the year would pan out. Gold feels even more connected and poignant now, after a year of so much loss and everyone just trying to survive.

Originally made in 2006 on limited , this fantastic album is now available once more. Each composer represented here was an important innovator in different ways- one need only think of how The Rite of Spring shocked the world- they are also linked by a deep interest in folk music. The two major works with percussion are worthy of close comparison, with the Bartok piece being more austere and 'early-modernist' than Camilleri's rich and neo-Romantic work that appeared 70 years later. The percussive score of The Rite of Spring makes it ideal in a two-piano form, and Stravinsky himself made this transcription. The four performers are high achievers in the UK as both soloists and chamber/orchestral players, as well as in academia. Murray McLachlan, a tireless champion of new music, is now one of the most popular and prolific recording pianists if our day.
