Callisto Protocol is one of those games where the flaws are pretty obvious but it is easy to ignore because the whole package is enjoyable. The melee combat is the main focus for a majority of the game and can get repetitive but the major problem is, because of the focus on melee combat and dodging, enemies can kill you in at most 3 to 4 hits and some can just 1 hit kill you, combine that with long load times Callisto can feel like a slog. However despite this, and some texture loading here and there I couldnt put the game down. I highly recommend Callisto Protocol if you dont need a game to be a flawless masterpiece rather then just a worthwhile experience

visually stunning! the sound mixing is incredible by far the best i have ever heard i found that using my head phones i could tell from which direction all sounds came from this was huge when it came to where enemies were located this is not a dead space game way to much melee and not enough gun play for me i was fairly disappointed probably my fault for not researching game play just the same old thing over and over again

this game was a trip, it was one of my favorite horror games ever. there were a lot of bugs through my playthrough but as i type this review they are patching most of the bugs. it is also on the shorter side but still a wonderful game start to finish. i highly recommend this for anyone who loved the dead space games, it has the same developer (Glen Schofield) behind it and you can see the same passion behind it.

After the awesome opening to this game, it went a little down hill after that. I love sci-if horror games but this one misses the mark. The game crashed on me playing at start of game. I wish it had more gun play instead of melee. Trying to swing and attack enemies is a real chore. You can’t keep your weapon out to have ready, he just puts it away. There is also a delay in the swing. This game had so much potential. My heart is broken.

The Callisto Protocol is a third person sci-fi horror game. Fans of Dead Space should definitely check this one out.

I really expected a survival horror but what we end up getting is a beat em up action horror game. I thought they would take the mechanics from dead space ajd apply them here. But instead they implemented a melee system that forces you to fight 1 on 1 with enemies using a stick. 99 percent of the time I was just using the stick to kill enemies. Only 3 weapons are viable out of the whole roster too but the stick is what you will be using most of the time or at least I was. Healing mechanic is bad too you cant use it in between fights. Story was ok but the lack of a map and backtracking is horrible. I would wait for Dead Space Remake to release. Inventory space is really bad for more than half the game too. Enemy variation is bad too. You are fighting the same enemies for the whole game. Just beat with stick and repeat.

This reminds me a lot of the movie Pandorum, it’s a terrific space thriller game
