The Chambers Brothers - Now! - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

New Jersey native Chelsea Handler travelled back to her home state to film her first HBO Max standup special, filmed outside an old railroad terminal in Jersey City on Liberty State Park, overlooking the Hudson River and lower Manhattan. It was a stunning setting doubling logistically as a solution to film a comedy special in the midst of a pandemic. In this HBO Max event, Handler shares hilarious experiences about her family, friendships, and her first foray into therapy-where she was able to unearth why everyone on this planet annoyed her so much. She has always been a trusted voice and has provided much needed perspective for the world. Now, she turns the attention on herself, reflecting on her personal journey toward self-awareness, assisted by her reliable companion - cannabis. Never one to hold back, Handler bravely takes the stage to face herself in front of everyone. It's a powerful performance and the most evolved work of her career. Chelsea Handler Evolution features 14 audio highlights from that special, delivered in Handler's unique and engaging style.

Despite signing to major labels and going on to build a remarkable legacy in the music industry, it can be argued that the Chambers Brothers never were better than on their original Vault Records recordings. Out of print for decades, these recordings, originally released between 1965 and 1970, are anything but predictable. These eclectic collections feature live and studio sets, secular and religious music, slow-grinding blues numbers, and scorching rockers that highlight the continued importance of the blues as an art form and aesthetic for people at that time. Here on 'Feelin' the Blues', The Chambers Brothers effortlessly blend their blues, rock 'n' roll and gospel influences into a style that quickly garnered the respect of music critics and many of their peers and would soon see them sign for Columbia. With tracks including 'I Got a Woman', 'House of the Rising Sun' and 'Don't Lose Your Cool'.

With one of the most impressive back catalogs that soul, pop and rhythm & blues has to offer, this collection explains in detail just how these bright and burgeoning young talents carved out a name for themselves before inevitably being snatched up by major labels.
