The Callous Daoboys - Celebrity Therapist - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2022 . InchThe Callous Daoboys are easily one of the catchiest and extraordinary hardcore bands of the last few years. [A] fresh young band giving hope that the mathcore scene won't die off.Inch - Exclaim! The recklessly free-spirited collective from Atlanta, Georgia, revels in high-strung extremity, music that's somehow dense, impenetrable, and chaotic yet confusingly inviting. An undeniable life-affirming glee is palpable as each song deliriously swerves across stylistic lines. Contemplation and self-awareness run throughout Celebrity Therapist. InchThe whole album is about history repeating itself and how we kind of move in circles. It's two steps forward and three steps back with a bunch of people in my life. The album is me reflecting on these people but realizing I'm guilty of the same at the end of the record. There are a lot of 'F**k you' songs because every heavy band likes writing those. But overall, the lyrics are more introspective and quite loving.Inch

The Bach Players - Chamber Music Brossard - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The chamber music of Nicolas Clérambault (1676-1749) is characterized by expressivity, thematic inventiveness and a discreetly skillful way of composition. As in the previous production of the ensemble The Bach Players with compositions by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre (COV 91815), this album contains little known works from the famous library of the composer and music writer Sébastien de Brossard (1655-1730), which were recorded here for the first time on historical instruments. With their lucid, performance-practically sound interpretation, the musicians manage to give the music an appealing freshness. The Bach Players is a group of singers and players known for their engaging programmes of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music. According to needs, the ensemble varies in size from three to twenty-five musicians. In their concerts The Bach Players make links between composers, national styles, and developments in music - to provide a wider context in which to present the famous composers of the time. They play on original instruments, and all vocal music is sung in it's original language.

Falla / Dickson - In Circles - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Grammy-nominated star saxophonist Amy Dickson returns with her most personal album yet, exploring connections between classical composers and the folk music of their homelands. From the red dirt of the Australian desert to the rolling green hills of the Scottish Highlands, In Circles celebrates folk music and the tremendous influence it has had on music around the world and throughout history. As Dickson says, InchFolk music breathes the very identity of a country, and in troubled times can be a source of solace, over and over again. At the core of folk music lies a beating heart of humanity to which we return again and again. The creation itself of this music requires personal, family and social connections - in a word kinship.Inch This sense of community and togetherness is amplified by the collaborations on this album. With celebrated composer and didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton, Dickson explores music by Australian composers Ross Edwards, Peter Sculthorpe and Barton himself. With acclaimed pianist Daniel de Borah she traverses Europe, from Brahms to Falla, Pessard and Vaughan Williams. With Nicholas Carter and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, she explores archetypes of traditional Scottish music in a world premiere recording of Sir James MacMillan's Saxophone Concerto, written specifically for Dickson. Dickson continues, InchIn today's frenetic digital age, folk music offers us a refuge the enduring simplicity and nostalgia embodied in this music provides timeless sanctuary from the relentless surge of modernity.Inch
