Although New Brunswick, NJ's Gaslight Anthem have only been around a couple years, they've become one of the punk underground's most celebrated acts. They've toured with Against Me, The Loved Ones and The Bouncing Souls. Their Side One Dummy debut reconciles their love of classic rock and soul icons Bruce Springsteen, Otis Redding, and Tom Petty with their NJ punk roots to create a unique musical amalgam.

The Royal Counts originated in a locker room in Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ. After lunch each day, to pass extra time away, they would venture to this spot because they liked the echo. Approximately one week afterwards, their reputation as a Inchboss groupInch spread around Dickenson's 3,200 student body. These two tracks, originally recorded and released on LP in 1968 and then paired together on a 45 in 1973, feature guest vocalist, Candace Crawford and her outstanding performance in the lead position on the A-side InchThat's How I Feel.Inch She also lends a voice to the background on Smokey Robinson's InchWay Over There.Inch .

Formed in 1968 the Fabulous Counts were a scorching Detroit funk and R&B outfit that recorded singles on local labels Moira and Westbound before releasing this, their debut, on Cotillion in 1969. The title track is a funk classic that spent 5 weeks on the R&B charts in early '69 and the rest of the album is equally strong, matching instrumental covers of contemporary hits from James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, the Beatles, and others with original material.
