Season Five of THE GOOD WIFE marks a new start for Alicia Florrick (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julianna Margulies) as she and Cary (Matt Czuchry) join forces to launch their own law firm. As they sever ties with Lockhart/Gardner, tensions escalate and explode as the new rivals go into attack mode - battling each other both in and out of court. Alicia's relationship with Will (Josh Charles) seems irrevocably damaged as he contends with her professional and personal betrayal. Diane (Christine Baranski), who was poised for a judgeship, has her nomination revoked after firing Alicia and returns to the firm. Kalinda's (Emmy winner Archie Panjabi) relationships with Alicia and Cary are also tested, as she remains loyal to Lockhart/Gardner. Meanwhile, newly elected Governor Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) and his Chief of Staff Eli (Alan Cumming) face new corruption issues as the Ethics Commission investigates possible voter fraud during Peter's gubernatorial campaign. Alicia's new venture leads her to volatile showdowns, altering every major relationship she's cultivated. For the first time on DVD, this 6-disc, 22-episode set witnesses Alicia's complete transformation from a good wife to a legal powerhouse.

    The personal and national problems continue.

    Alicia leaves her law firm. Her marriage instability continues. The super-secret and powerful National Security Agency has a role in this season. If you ever felt paranoid about being spied on by the government, this season will confirm it.

    The GREAT Wife

    A fantastic series- and the fifth season was one of the BEST. With water cooler plot twists and characters going down for the count - which are still being talked about. How the Emmy voters didn't put this in the Best Drama category is a mystery. See for yourself. If there's a better written drama on the air (OK - maybe Game of Thrones), show me. I've seen every episode - own seasons1-4 already - this was a no brainer. Buy it. Watch it. Behold excellence. Cheers to Julianna Margulies and the Kings and the entire cast and guest stars who shine. This show is superb!

    Best season yet for the best series on TV

    Not a boring character in the bunch from the grandmothers right down to the children; from Eli Gold to Kalinda Sharma; from Diane Lockhart (the terrific Christine Baranski) to Elsbeth Tasciioni. All these and many, many more make The Good Wife must-see TV.

    Sustained excellence

    This show continues it's overall excellence in storytelling. This season continues the excellence of past seasons and keeps you wanting more. This show has all of the attributes that would sustain it as a long running mini series.

    Wow

    The Good Wife is an amazing show and this was another amazing season. It broke my heart, but I still loved it. I would definitely recommend trying The Good Wife, but start with season one if you're a new viewer.
