    Great Dead concert

This concert from Cornell University on May 8, 1977 has been rated by Deadheads and reviewers as possibly the best Greatful Dead concert of all time. They may be right. This is an excellent concert that has finally been released after 40 years. It does not disappoint. Every Deadhead is in Dead heaven. Highly recommended to the casual or curious Dead fans. True Deadheads have known about this concert for years and are GREATFUL that it has finally been released. ENJOY!

    Classic Dead Live

Cover label states "Holy Grail of all Dead Shows" or something like that. I disagree. There are a few Dick's Picks that I feel are better live recordings. The acoustics on this 3-CD set are fair compared to other recordings. Granted the year is 1977 and digital has not been accepted as an audio format. However Garcia's guitar is incredibly focused during this show. The set selection is interesting because the Dead play a number of solo Garcia tunes (Deal, Loser, They Love Each Other) and one from Bob Weir's Kingfish (Lazy Lightning). The discs don't contain the encore to the show, unless it is out of sequential order. Good to have this to add to the collection.

    Classic Dead

I've been looking forward to hearing this show since I saw it was getting released a couple of months ago. Cornell 77 does not disappoint! Great set list of classic Dead tracks, great sound quality, and released just in time for the beginning of summer. Perfect soundtrack to sit outside and feel the sun on your face. Enjoy!

    Jerry Garcia...Guitar...'nuff said

In my opinion this is one of the Dead's greatest shows because Jerry plays phenomenal lead guitar at this show. Not one mistake. He's flying baby. Dead with Keith and Donna or Pigpen that's my favorite incarnation of the band. Brent Mydland? not so much, a bargain basement Michael McDonald. His songwriting sucked too.

    A Must for any Deadhead

I do not consider myself a huge fan, but I'm very interested in what this band is about. This album blew me away. Long 3 cd set, but totally worth it. The booklet that comes with the CD is very informative about what this live show is all about. I'm still not a Deadhead, but maybe a little closer.

Various Artists - Cherry Stars Collide - Dream Pop, Shoegaze & Ethereal Rock 1986-1995 / Various - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Journey Through Key Tracks, Lesser Known Half-Lit Gems And Sleepy Pop Nuggets Of The 1980s And 90s. Featuring Mazzy Star, A. R. Kane, Cocteau Twins, Spiritualized, This Mortal Coil, Slowdive, Chapterhouse, Bel Canto, Julee Cruise, The Chameleons, Dead Can Dance, Talk Talk, rich, Low And Many More. A Companion Set To 2016's 'Still In A Dream' Set. During the latter half of the 1980s, a wave of alternative artists began to explore a gentler, more ethereal sound, bringing a dream-like aesthetic to the rock and pop idiom. Taking it's lead from the UK (and the 4AD tag in particular), this refined approach soon spread, particularly to the United States, slowly picking up the moniker Inchdream popInch - a catch-all term rather than a genre within itself. Curated by the same team as our successful 'Still In A Dream' 2016 shoegaze set, 'Cherry Stars Collide' explores that sound as it emerged in the mid-80s and proceeded to define a less grounded, more thoughtful approach to musical expression than was offered elsewhere. Fusing and blending with other genres along the way. - from the guitar driven shoegaze movement and proto-Britpop to the post 'C-86' generation and the nascent leftfield clubbing scene - that sound both drew in artists already operating elsewhere and inspired new artists to embark their own journey.

Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger In The Alps - VINYL LP
5.0(3)

Phoebe Bridgers wrote her first song at age 11, spent her adolescence at open mic nights, and busked through her teenage years at farmers markets in her native Los Angeles. By age 20, she'd caught the ear of Ryan Adams, who listened to her perform her song InchKillerInch in his L.A. studio, inviting her to come back and record it there the next day. The session blossomed into the three-song 'Killer' EP, released to much acclaim on Adams's Pax-Am tag in 2015. In the two short years since, Bridgers has toured or played with Conor Oberst, Julien Baker, City and Colour, Violent Femmes, Mitski, Television and Blake Babies among others. Phoebe Bridgers debut full-length, Stranger In The Alps. From the weeping strings and Twin Peaks twangs of opening track Smoke Signals, to the simple heartbreak of Funeral and melancholic crescendo of Scott Street, Stranger in the Alps is a swooningly beautiful record with a gothic heart.
