The Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street - VINYL LP

In Rainbows, as a title, implies a sense of comfort and delightfulness. Symbolically, rainbows are more likely to be associated with kittens and warm blankets than the grim and glum circumstances Radiohead is known for soundtracking. There's a slight, if expected, twist at play. The band is more than familiar with the unpleasant moods associated with colors like red, green, and blue - all of which, of course, are colors within a rainbow - all of which are present, and even mentioned, during the album. On a couple levels, then, In Rainbows is not any less fitting as a Radiohead album title than InchMyxomatosisInch as a Radiohead song title. The one aspect of the album that becomes increasingly perceptible with each listen is how romantic it feels, albeit in the way that one might find the bioport scenes in David Cronenberg's to be extremely hot and somewhat unsettling. Surprisingly, some of the album's lyrics are even more personal/universal and straightforward than anything on The Eraser, the album made by singer Thom Yorke and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. The album is very song-oriented, with each track constantly moving forward and developing. Yet there are also abstract electronic layers and studio-as-instrument elements to prevent it from sounding like a regression. In Rainbows will be remembered as Radiohead's most stimulating synthesis of accessible songs and abstract sounds, rather than the world's first pick-your-price download. 2012 . With valuable assistance from producer Rick Rubin, the Peppers find just the right blend of punk, funk, and hip-hop. Even with a running time of 74 minutes, this 1991 breakthrough has continuity and cohesion both within and across the 17 cuts. Riding Flea's surging bass, Anthony Kiedis delivers his explicit lyrics with a rapper's flair, extolling the virtues (and outlining the dangers) of S*x and drugs. Plaintive ballads such as InchBreaking the Girl,Inch InchI Could Have Lied,Inch and the hit InchUnder the BridgeInch give the album depth and provide contrast to the raw energy of InchMellowship Slinky in B Major,Inch InchFunky Monks,Inch and InchGive It Away.Inch Rubin masterfully fuses John Frusciante's raunchy guitar with the irresistible grooves. Limited vinyl LP pressing including digital download. Daydream is the fifth studio album by Mariah Carey, originally released on October 3, 1995. The follow-up to her internationally successful album Music Box (1993) and holiday album Merry Christmas (1994), Daydream differed from the two by leaning increasingly towards hip hop and urban music. Throughout the project, Carey collaborated with Walter Afanasieff, with whom she wrote and produced most of her two previous albums. With Daydream, Carey took more control over the musical direction as well as the album's composition. Carey considered Daydream to be the beginning of her musical and vocal transformation, a change that became more apparent in her sixth album Butterfly (1997). During the album's production, Carey endured many creative differences with her tag and then-husband Tommy Mottola. Album Tracks 1. Fantasy 2. Underneath the Stars 3. One Sweet Day 4. Open Arms 5.
