The Green Planet - 4K Blu-Ray [Standard] [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray]

This is another BBC reference title to have for anyone with a 4k TV to show off the video/audio capabilities of a system. Two of the discs in this set are 4k ones and the other two are regular bluray so those without a 4k TV or 4k bluray player can still watch the main and special features on a non-4k system. I got a slip cover with my purchase but not sure if that's guaranteed with every purchase.

I loved blue planet so I had to pick this up. I was interested in the earths plant life so picking this up was a no brainer!

The 4k in this is beautiful. I played it in the background as i read a book and occasionally i couldnt help looking up and watching it. Its gorgeously filmed and very interesting with some of these crazy plants they show you in this one. Im not super into documentaries but i definitely want to own all of these ones. If i had any negative it would be that the commentary is quiet compared to the music which is kind of annoying cause if you want to hear attenborough talk you gotta turn it up, but then the music gets all cinimatic and blares really loud and kind of ruins it at times. But thats why i use subtitles anyways. But this is an issue in his other series. Im surprised this hasnt been fixed or complained about by other people. I dont think its just me.. Regardless this is well worth 25$ and i would recommend you get it just in case it ever goes back up in price (50$, which i doubt it will but who knows)

Mind blown! I have watched all of the BBC nature documentaries, including in 4K, for the past several years. It's incredible seeing how the documentarians top their previous works. The lengths they go through to get the shots amaze me. In this documentary they also use a new camera rig to take time-lapse video of the plants. That might not sound so innovative, but what if I told you that you get time-lapse with moving camera angles? It truly has to be seen. Plus, the plants they feature and how they feature them is simply amazing. I sat on this purchase for a while before watching. I knew it would be good, but I like seeing the animals and wasn't so sure how much I would enjoy the focus on plants. This is absolutely one of my favorites. The 4K and Dolby Atmos audio here are stellar. A reference disc. Buy it! Support this release and others like it. More please!
