The Howling (Steelbook) - 4K Blu-Ray [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray]

The Blob is back in this horrific tale about a vile, malignant life-form that crashes to Earth in a cozy, rural American town called Arborville. Untroubled by conscience or intellect, the Blob does only one thing and it does it well. It eats anything and everything that moves men, women, and children. And tonight it wants to swallow the town of Arborville. The original version of The Blob thrilled and terrified audiences back in the 1950s. Now the oozing, gooey killer is back with a whole new high-tech look. What was once only suggested now comes to life with state-of-the-art special effects in the tradition of such thrilling remakes as The Thing and The Fly.

From Blumhouse and the director of The Invisible Man comes a modern take on the classic monster story, Wolf Man. Seeking a fresh start, Blake moves his wife Charlotte and daughter Ginger to his childhood home in rural Oregon. Upon arrival, they encounter a brutal animal attack, forcing the family to barricade themselves inside the house as an unseen creature prowls the perimeter. As the night wears on, Blake's injuries worsen, and his bizarre behavior turns monstrous. To protect her daughter, Charlotte must decide whether to confront the danger outside or the growing horror within.

It's not a lot of fun when you have to spend Christmas Eve stuck in your sorority house. It's even worse when a bloodthirsty psycho slides down your chimney, hides in the attic, and begins to make anonymous threatening phone calls. It's Ho, Ho, Horror with Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, John Saxon, and Andrea Martin in this Canadian cult favorite from Bob Clark (InchA Christmas StoryInch). 98 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English; Subtitles English. Three-disc set.
