Released in 1974, Lotus by Santana is a landmark live album showcasing the band's incredible fusion of rock, jazz, and Latin music. Recorded during their Japan tour, the album features Carlos Santana's signature guitar work and the band's dynamic improvisations. Lotus captures performances from Tokyo, presenting a mix of Santana's classic hits and extended jams, including tracks like InchToussaint L'OvertureInch and InchOye Como Va.Inch Known for it's energetic solos and vibrant rhythms, the album highlights Santana's ability to blend diverse musical influences into a cohesive, powerful sound. The 1974 is praised for it's high-quality sound and passionate performances, solidifying Santana's reputation as a pioneering force in rock and Latin music. For fans and collectors, Lotus remains a quintessential representation of Santana's live prowess and innovative spirit. Lotus is available on 180g black vinyl and includes an insert.
On his seventh album the guitar guru is once again surrounded by numerous freshly recruited supporting musicians and the star producer David Rubinson. The latter watches carefully over the development of this project, which is highly reminiscent of the early Santana sound. A perceptible infatuation with the vocals, or the wealth of buzzing, pulsating, clattering, clicking rhythms, or yet again the inimitable bubbling, frothy guitar solos a Santana LP is simply unthinkable without all this. Why then should one try to pick out the various styles, genres or consumer groups when this record belongs to his best and most important six, seven - or maybe even eight? At the end of the day, we all remain amigos with Santana. In a gatefold sleeve.
